Everybody hates trial lawyers until their ox is gored.
This an an egregiously political decision allowing HMO administrators to dictate treatment options to patients regardless of a physician's opinion. I would never belong to an HMO where I might be discharged in serious condition, die, and leave my family with no ability to litigate.
Bush was on the stump again bashing trial lawyers and trying to make the people believe that lawsuits and malpractice premiums are the sole root of the rising cost of medicine. What bilge.
Administrative costs are going through the roof thanks to our convoluted and inefficent billing system.
