My worst date was with a guy named Dan. I should have known better the very first time he called himself "Dan the Man". But, no, I was an idiot. He picked me up and we went to a racetrack, where supposedly, he had "connections" and could get us into areas of the track most people couldn't get to. I'm not a big racing fan, but I like being around horses, so..ok. Now, the racetrack in my town is not the most "posh", and the area we hung out while he placed his bets was disgusting. His buddy who was supposed to get us into the restricted areas was nowhere to be found. Being a good sport, I sucked it up and followed him around. For a while. When it became apparent he planned on staying in this seedy place ALL night, I suggested getting a bite to eat. AWAY from the track. He grudgingly took me to a restaurant nearby, asked me to pay half the bill, and wanted to go back to the track. I nixed this and asked to go to the local watering hole. (I was still drinking at the time.) We got there and he grabbed a table, sat down and said "I'll have a long island iced tea." I stood there for a second, a tad peeved, and went up to get our drinks. I came back to find my date with a waitress in HIS LAP. Now, this is just a date, granted, but that was about all I could take. I handed the girl my drink, set Dan's down in front of him, reached over to get my purse, and accidentally/on purpose knocked over his drink into his lap. Well, THEIR laps. She was still sitting on him. I felt bad for her, because WTF did she know, but I hate being disrespected that way. So, I got a cab, and went home. Funny thing is, he showed up at the bar I was working in the next day and ASKED ME OUT AGAIN!!! I started laughing and couldn't stop so he eventually just left.
