Marine Corps develops non lethal weapon
The Marine Corps will soon have a non lethal weapon at their disposal for crowd control and flushing out terrorists.
It's a non lethal directed energy weapon that heats moisture particles on human skin causing painful burning without doing damage to tissue.
Unlike the other services, Marines often have to deal with hostile crowds and demonstrations and the new weapon could be very effective in quelling potentially dangerous protests that often result in civilian fatalities. It will also be useful in flushing out terrorists hiding in buildings.
The beam is effective at over 2,000 ft. and the range could be improved.
