in the early to mid sixtys ronnie and reg kray,were nicked ,that following saturday night i was in a pub in the east end of london with my grandad,i was just 16,and i was learning to socialise the way they did back then,there were certain codes of dress as well as behavoir.suits had to be worn,italian cut mohair,whits shirts definatly no coloured ones,ties of course,hanky in top pocket,one inch of cuff had to show out of the coat sleeve,trousers with a razor sharp crease.now all of a sudden some heavy came in and cleared the bar,the firm were needing to meet,i said to the heavy that my grandad was in there and with only 1 leg needed me to get him out,ok he said be quick.in i went and came face to face with the lambrianou brothers,kray twin enforcers,i stood there in a wine red 3 ply tonic mohair suit,whit shirt,all the trimmings and chris lambrianou winked at me!not another poof i thought ,then i looked in a huge mirror and saw him looking almost identical to me,then i realised he was winking at himself years prior to then!
