Nightmares!

I don't know if any of you have bad dreams, but I had the scariest, most God-awful dream last night! It was straight out of a Stephen King novel!

The only bit I remember is that I saw my daughter lying on the ground outside, surrounded by people and with a car nearby. I ran to her and put my arm under her shoulders and cradled her head in my arms. Her eyes were closed and her skin was very white and there was a trickle of blood on her face. As I cradled her, her head lolled towards me slightly...and I swear to God I felt her spirit leave her body as she died in my arms!

I stared at her in absolute shock, I couldn't believe my baby was gone!
I opened my mouth to scream in horror...and woke up with a jump!
My mouth was open wide (ready to scream), my heart was pounding madly, I was completely freaked out and panicking like mad! It took quite a few minutes to realise it was a horrendous nightmare and not true! It took several hours for me to calm down. I had to run into her room to check she was breathing and have been checking on her all day. Luckily she's at home this week because it's half term.

It was the worst nightmare I've ever had, and I've had some bad ones!
I don't want to go to bed now in case it comes back! It really freaked me out!

Re: Nightmares!

That IS a freaky dream! I've had dreams where I've died many times, but it would be so much worse to have your child die. Your story gave me goosebumps.
I've been interested lately in studying the meanings of dreams, as mine have been very intense, and detailed and memorable. If I come up with anything pertinent, I'll be sure to pass it along to you, Rapunzel.

Re: Nightmares!

Hi Rapuzel, it's horrible to dream something like this and it sound's like your subconscious is trying to talk to you.
To dream of death usually signifies a birth however.
In this case it could mean that you are worried about your daughters 'new birth'. Is she becoming a teenager and you feel that the 'child in her is dying'? Or is she starting school and 'you feel that the baby is leaving'?
I always dream a lot and none of the people who have died in my dream have actually died?
It was horrible but unless you are prone to premonitions or pyschic you shouldn't have anything worry about.
To dream of an accident according to the dream books however is a warning and they suggest that any un necessary travel should be avoided and to avoid contact with dangerous things like knifes etc.
Also were you eating late before you went to bed or did you watch any action movies that maybe prayed upon your unconscious?

Love Jen

Re: Nightmares!

That must have been terrible for Rapunzel, I can imagine how worried u must have felt afterwards. I'm always having similiar dreams, though as of yet no-one in my family has ever been the one dying, (sadly it is always me,) but whatever u do, try and get over it as soon as possible, otherwise it may start to haunt you and as you say prevent you from getting any sleep, which will only make matters worse.

I do feel that dreams are brought about as a reflection of our inner thoughts or visions, so what Jenny has to say I whole heartedly agree with. I have a friend who is into looking at dreams, and he often tells me that any really bad dreams that u have, don't neccessarily mean that the same will happen to u or someone you know, and as Jenny points out usually mean the reverse, and that someone will be born into your family.

If it helps try going to bed a little earlier than u usually do, and try and take your mind of that dream with something else, that will ease you into a good night's sleep.

Re: Nightmares!

OMG! Thats terrible. I remember my very first nightmare like it was yesterday, its not nearly as scary as that, but I just remember it so vividly and I was only like 4 years old. I just had a baby at this "camp" where everyone had babies. The mothers were lying in cots next to eachother but they were so deep you couldnt see eachother's faces. Well, this lady walks around to each cot and asks the mothers what they need for their babies (like strollers, clothes, etc). Well I finish telling her everything I want and she moves on to the lady next to me and I hear the woman say all she wants is a purple diaper pen. And I leaned up out of the cot and say "Why would that be all you want?", when the woman leans up to answer me her face is gray and scaly and she has black hait and black eyes like a zombie. She wanted it to killl her baby. I woke right up and told my mom, who consoled me back to sleep, but I still remember that dream like I had it last night and that was 25 years ago!

Does anyone know what my dream means?
