Thumbs up Brazil anyone?

If you are considering some new place to travel I highly recomend Brazil.
I first went there with my family when I was but a teenager, and have returned several times to a most enchanting country,as well as to visit my friends there.
Rio,Sau Paula,Reciffe are great cities youll never forget Brazil nor will the friends you make there forget you.

Re: Brazil anyone?

I find your post quite coincidental. I was just thinking about countries I would like to try living in and Brazil crossed my mind. I am sure it is nice to visit, what would it be like to live in? For, say, a year or two?

Talking Re: Brazil anyone?

If I had another country that I'd feel real cozy in calling home besides usa it would have to be brazil.
Iam sure it would be a delight to live there for a year each of my visits lasted no more than 5 months.

Re: Brazil anyone?

Would it be hard to find work there? What is the society like?

Re: Brazil anyone?

I enjoyed Recife, very nice holiday destination and not over developed and touristy. (well at least it wasn't in 1992) I hope it is still unspoiled. Hell of a long flight, changed planes in Cartegena Columbia.. thought I would never get there

Koan
(better late than never getting back to you)
Society is on one side shamefully poor (and thats being kind),on the other extremely wealthy.
about the only middle class are officers in the military,or officials within the goverment these were mostly my friends, and remain so today.

though as i said in another post ive not been their since 88 Ive kept up with things there through snail mail letters, and visits here from friends there.

society is ...almost magic there, there you can dwell again in your childhood dreams,i love it there,i must return soon.

Re: Brazil anyone?

Are there any security issues or worries if you are in Brazil and you are an American? Kidnappings?

Re: Brazil anyone?

I suppose there are reasons to be aware of your surroundings no matter where you go today and whether youre an American,or anyone else.
Police, and Military forms of security are very open and still to this day everywhere you go in the larger cities.

Most of my friends now are retired.and have homes on the outskirts some we in the states might call in the jungle.

Recently I went to Mexico all but myself went to the city with a tour I went to the country to see the real people, everyone from the tour said I'd be mugged when in fact it turned out to be them who were held up because they showed themselves in a vain way while I was on foot with a hiking staff, and my backpack.
I met only as I did in Brazil good kind friendly people.

Just dont show off as corny as it might sound 'when in rome do has the romans'.
