This is driving me crazy!!!

I am 29. I have a full biological sister who will trun 27 next month. My half sister (same father, different mother) will turn 22 next month. Her mother is my ex stepmother. Ex-stepmom and my dad have been divorced for 13 years. 22 year old sis, who I will call Zima, was 9 when they split. Anyway...

She is a spoiled flucking brat. She gets everything she wants by both parents. She had new clothes (the latest brand names) anytime she wanted them in high school. She got a brand new expensive car when she turned 15! You cant even drive legally until 16, but she got it as an early Christmas present. At 18 she went off to college and parents paid ALL of her bills! I mean ALL, right down to her cell phone!! And even gave her an allowance! She just graduated from college, they are still paying her bills on top of paying her tuition (she refuses to get loans because she "doesnt want to have to pay it back") and now she is going into an extended education program in her field that costs over $5000, and who will pay it? her mother. Well, when she graduated last weekend, she asked for a $40K USD car. She got pissed off this weekend because she didnt get it. WTF??? She got $500 from dad and $ 500 from mom. Mom also has another daughter who didnt get a new car at 15 and certainly didnt have her bills paid through college. She worked from 16. Me and my other sister had jobs from 14 until now. We also worked through college and paid our own tuition. What the government or private grants wouldnt cover we got loans for. My sister and I paid for our own $120,000 educations ourselves. Thats $120,000 each NOT COLLECTIVELY!! Our baby sister is a spoiled flucking brat and I am sick to death of her getting a job for two weeks, complaining, and then quitting and never having to pay abill to save her life!!!

UGH!!!! I mean, mine and my bio sister's husband makes well over $140,000 a year and we dont have a flucking $40K car!!

I want to shake her and scream at her to take responsibility for her own life but I think my father and stepmom have spoiled her for life.!!!!!

Sorry for the rant but I am sooooooooooooooo pissed and tired of her **** right now!!!! She is complaining to me about not getting this $40K car and I am spending $40K trying to have a flucking baby!!!!!!

Where is her flucking head at?!?!?!?!?!?!?!

Younger kids sometimes get spoiled by parents, and if she complains to about an expensive car, tell her to get a job and buy her own. At her age, she should be paying for those kind of bills! They need to tell her NO!

I split the cost of my 20 year old daughter's tuition, I do not pay for it all. She pays her share of the car insurance, my son does too. I did buy her a new car this spring when the other one went out, but the limit was $5-6000, and I picked it out and put it in my name.

Think of it this way DG, you and your one sister know you can make it in the real world. If the younger one ever finds herself in the situation where she has to, she's screwed.

DGal, I really understand your frustration.

I've been working since age 14 as well. I paid for college (with some loans) and any car that I had.

What these things have done is give me the ability to appreciate things in life. It's made me a better person with a stronger character.

I respect you and your bio sis for all your accomplishments.

Can't say the same for the half-sis.

Respect is really worth something, isn't it?

as a mum if i could afford to do all that for my daughters i would, i expect your parents are in a better financial situation now than they were when you were that age & dont think they are doing anything wrong

Okay, so I'm still new here, and don't know many of you guys, but I wanted to respond here, so here's hoping no one's offended

I do not believe it's healthy to feed your children everything. It doesn't help them to learn a sense of responsibility or self for that matter. Once they're on their own, and parents aren't there anymore they haven't the ability to handle daily life, whereas those of us who do struggle through and build what we have from teh ground up, from what our parents teach us, and assist us with, have the tools necessary to handle most anything. I'm still in school, as I had to sit out a few years with my son, and from teh moment I started, I've been the one to pay tuition, or obtain other financial aid sources. In the beginning my dad helped me if I needed it, but it was ultimately up to me. Now, I don't want that to sound like he didn't care, because he was the best dad a girl could ask for, but he believed in the value of learning responsibility, and it's helped me tremendously. Now that he, and my mom, are gone, I have what I need to get by, pay my bills, provide for my son, and still sit down each night with teh knowledgethat I'm making something good out of life.

Now, my son's dad (not in a relationship with him any longer) is the polar opposite. His parents have paid for everything for him, still do actually. WHEN he works, his mom gets his check, pays what bills he has, and gives him the rest to spend, which he does liberally as he has no sense of the value of money. He'll never have anything that amounts to anything because of this, IMO.

I'm rambling really, but that's my take on it.

designergal, boy!! is your sister in for a real shock of what life is really about when she's gonna have to face it alone. That's what life was like for me growing up to . I had to work hard for everything I had to where my other siblings seemed to have it handed to them. Be proud in the fact , that you've done everything on your own and your standing on your own two feet.
