Wink Household hint #267:

When you purchase a set of sheets, buy an extra bottom sheet. You
will extend the life of the set by at least 50% (your mileage may vary)
since the bottom sheets wear out first. And if you can swing it, buy
sheets with a higher thread count. Cost more, but worth it.

Re: Household hint #267:

Another thing bout the higher thread count, the sheets are softer and warmer.

Re: Household hint #267:

high thread count is definately better quality.... good linen sheets for example will last for years, its likely they will be passed down a generation before they wear out!

Re: Household hint #267:

Lower thread count sheets make me feel itchy and scratchy, so I try to find higher thread count sheets, anyway. Nice to know they last longer, too.

Re: Household hint #267:

I bought a nice set of 600 thread count sheets last year. I love 'em. I would love to know what it feels like to sleep on a 1200 or 1400 thread count sheet.

Anyone here have a set that high?

BTW, overstock.com has some good prices on nice sheet sets.

And thick flannel sheets for the winter . . . mmmmmmmm . . . I don't even wanna get out of my bed
