Patriotism

Would you accept $1 000 000 to leave the country and never set foot in it again?

Re: Patriotism

I have no specific feelings of connection to any one country

Re: Patriotism

Let me get this straight. I get $1,000,000 so I could go and live in (say) Florence, surrounded by beautiful architecture and works of art, eat divine food, drink fantastic wine, meet beautiful and well-dressed people...AND never have to come back to this s***hole?

Are you kidding?

Re: Patriotism

I might well be tempted...and my family could come and visit me wherever I was.

Re: Patriotism

As much as I love this country I would be looking for the next flight out (First Class at last!). Mind you I'd be pretty picky about where to go, there aren't too many countries that measure up to Australia for quality of life so I would need to sit and think very hard

Re: Patriotism

I could go through a lousy million in nothing flat. Sweeten the pot and include my family and I'd consider it. But this would still be home.

Re: Patriotism

The world is my home anyway.
I do not feel my country is my country anymore. It would appear that immigrants have more rights than I do. I have been thinking about emigrating anyway. Perhaps I'd move to Eire.
