Yes, I know it's rather early but it won't be long before the holidays are finally here. I was thinking about the bonuses I got from my previous jobs and whether the bonuses were more than what I anticipated or less. In my present job I get £80 worth of vouchers! This is a lot more than my last two previous jobs. The last job before my present one I only got £25 in vouchers and the job before that, I got £50 in cash (although I do prefer cash).
So tell me, do you get a Christmas bonus where you work or is your firm/boss a mean git? ![]() |

Re: Christmas Bonuses
Well although I work my ring off all year, for the last 3 years a Christmas bonus has not been forthcoming and morale is low. Most of us contribute £5 or £10 a week to a Christmas fund which has kinda become our pseudo-bonus. I don't agree with bonuses if the company is in trouble, but by the same token, it doesn't hurt to spread a few quid around when times are rosy

Re: Christmas Bonuses
Mean git here!
No need for bonuses. We have a company outing every 2 months or so to wherever people want to go - all paid for by the company. The staff get to decide where the next outing is and we have been all over the place. Christmas last year we had a day at the Cheltenham Race Course - private bar and everything. All food and drink paid for by the company. Wives etc and children were all invited. That evening the adults that could still stand went to a club and also for an Indian meal, again all paid for by the company. Stuff having a bonus - going out with the mad lot at work is far more fun! |

Thank you both UK and Wendy for your responses there. Wendy, the company I work for provides the Christmas meal at a venue (not always in the same place every year) which is paid for by the company. Some of the departments within the firm have their own Christmas meal but you have to pay for that yourself.

it's just one big gossip shop most of the time (and the men are the worse!) We do ocassionally go out and pay for it ourselves. Supposed to be going out tonight actually! But I'm not going as I can't stand the thought of the hangover on a weekday morning. ![]() |

I don't blame you for not wanting to go out and get drunk during the week - been there, done that and worn the t-shirt - not very nice the next day at work. ![]() |

Re: Christmas Bonuses
I got one last year, but because of the type job I have,I may not get one every year. Does not bother me, though.
