Mr. Livingstone, the London congestion charge, and MPG.
Well, that nice Mr. Livingstone thinks drivers of the most "polluting" vehicles
(those with carbon dioxide emissions above 225g per kilometre) should pay a higher charge for driving in London than those who drive cars which output less (emissions of less than 120g per kilometre). What's the great big fuss all about? |

Re: Mr. Livingstone, the London congestion charge, and MPG.
I'm not an expert in such matters but the motor transport accounts for about 13% of polution so there are other factors involved. Even so, lets start with the buses. Many could be converted to greener fuels (Bio fuels are one solution but are almost impossible to come by)
There are many who drive into London through necessity not because of a jolly up. The congestion charge has done little to alleviate congestion because they have failed to synchronise many of the traffic lights. In fact there is a suggestion that they have been "tampered" with to snarl it all up a bit more, so as to extrude a little more money from the motorist Ken Livingstone isnt a nice chap, he's a tosser |
