Have you ever considered a 'green burial'?
Here's a really interesting slideshow that explains past, present and future burial.

NO,NO,NO Snooze, no can do....need to be cremated and have the "auld" ashes thrown to the winds in the sea. A right old party at my favorite pub "Klees" for all the guests. That's in my will. So, whose coming to my farewell party???? All are invited

Re: Have you ever considered a 'green burial'?
KathyEllen, I want to be cremated and have the ashes strewn in several locations around the globe...rather like your plan! I've even set aside money so my daughter can get to Kenya & have a safari...."on me." Or WITH ME, as the case will be!
I'll come to your party...if you'll promise to come to mine! The concept of "green burial" figured in TWO of the plot lines in "Six Feet Under," one of the best series of all time, IMHO! Anyone remember?

Re: Have you ever considered a 'green burial'?
Perhaps we should stick a few acorns and seeds in our pockets before we drop dead, then we could carbon offset ourselves and the gasses our rotting corpses emmit while we decomp, making this a truely "green" burial...... Even in our death, we can "save the planet".... Al Gore would be proud....
I think when alot of people get close to they're death, they seek a natural end, or maybe think they are at peace when they feel close to nature, which we all feel at some times in our lives..... I think people are lucky when they can choose how they get to end they're lives.... Many have no choice and the end is ugly...... I hope I go in my sleep, dreaming of a long lost girlfriend...................................... Last edited by Snidely Whiplash; 08-09-2008 at 10:54 PM. Reason: change ending.... |
