Time for another bottle of gin....

One drink a day 'is good for the brain'

Middle-aged women who consume one alcoholic drink a day suffer less decline in brain function in old age than teetotallers, according to new research.

Re: Time for another bottle of gin....

I have been having very little. No more wine hardly, since no smoking. It had been about a week, last night i had Grey Goose and pineapple juice, so good. Just a couple and I'm all set. Puts me to sleep.

Apparently some twit has dictated that 3 pints of ordinary beer is "binge drinking". There's no hope for me, then.

Re: Time for another bottle of gin....

This thread reminds me of my aunt and uncle, in their seventies at the time, who were very active, traveled a lot, but absolute tee-totalers. However, every morning, they 'took' a teaspoonful of raisins that had been soaking in vodka. Someone sometime had told them it would cure all their ills. Not to mention starting the day off well!! They kept that jar of raisins going constantly. Even got some of the rest of the family to try it.
I never laugh at the old folks!!
