I belong to a neighborhood informer group, where you can list things for sale, and mass e-mail to those who've subscribed. (I think I'll ditch them, though.)

Tonight, comes this e-mail: Pyrenees puppies for sale, AKC registered parents, $100.00 per pup.

Isn't this too low for a Pyrenees? I'm not into breeding, but do kinda keep up on costs for pure-bred pups, for the heck of it.

It's waaaay too low for a quality pup. My guess is BYB, backyard breeder,
trying just to get some quick bucks. Any idiot (and I do mean IDIOT!!)
can get two dogs with AKC papers and put forth something. Avoid them
like the plague, I say.

Poor puppies like that are destined to be dumped in a shelter, I give it
6 months tops.

for a minute there I thought that may be way to low a price. the parents may be AKC registered but to get the price for the puppies don't you have to register them as well ?(that's a heck of a lot of money) it may have been an unplanned batch of pups.
I just bought a golden retriever pup through a breeder that has given up on the papers most people expect from a breeder. I know on her fathers side her grandpaents are both Australian champions. I viewed her mother, and yep shes a pure breed as well. But they couldn't afford and gave up going through the KCC. to have all the pups registered. I payed $300 Au and with papers it would cost me $800.00. Hey I just wanted a dog.
Oh and BTW the VET checked her out and said I got a really good deal,she was one of the healthiest pups he'd seen in awhile, and I've met others that have got pups from the same breeder and they are exellent looking dogs and with beautiful temperments.

I'd have someone from your group check them out, but not all is what it would seem, good or bad.
