Unhappy Neighbors

I have a question for anyone who will reply.

(I hope I posted this in the right place)

Would you be hurt, mad, upset, angry,IF Your neighbor/ friendly, from accross the street. bought an empty house next to you. That they knew you wanted to buy. And now want to make a profit off of you.

Would it hurt you relationship with your neighbor?
Even of THEY don't want it too.
How would you handel it?

Thanks for any replys.

Lisa

Re: Neighbors

If it was me, I'd tell them in no uncertain terms what I thought of them, plus I'd make sure of inviting loads of mates around every time they had a viewing. I'd do a sterling job of scaring away any potential buyers by making them think they'd have the neighbours from hell.

They might have bought it and tried to do the dirty, but he'd sure as hell be stuck with it for a loooong time.

Re: Neighbors

Thanks y'all !
I knew I was justified in being mad!

I could spit right now, RIGHT IN HIS EYE.
But I sill have to be nice to them for the moment, untill They let us know if they wiil except our offer.
I'm not wanting to sell it to make a profit. I want to make my elderly care home there,so work will be closer to home.
They slipped in behind us and bought it for back taxes.

Re: Neighbors

Thank you Terri!
I have a very small one now. But I want to relocate and expand. If I'm able.
This sale would change my world.

Why couldn't you have done that too? (bought for back taxes?)
The early bird ALWAYS gets the worm!!

You say they want to make a profit off you........ How is that? (Make a profit off you?)
Also didn't you want it for profit too? (A day care)
Maybe they don't want a elderly care center across the street from them in the neighborhood? Ever think of that?

All good points you make.
And ones I have also thought of. (They don't know about the care home)

My problem with them is... they have live in the neighborhood for three years. All three years we have been friendly to each other. cook outs, long talks in the yards and so on.
Hell, when they tore down the old house where they live, and built a new one my husband helped quite a bit,for FREE.
When they were living in the motor home, while their house was being built. I made food for them. offered to let them shower and do laundry.

Yes, we missed out on the tax sale. We were looking under a differant last name. They became privvy to some infromation about the name and date of the sale. And never mentioned it. Knowing we were interested.
They paid $11,000 for it,plus lawyer fees. They told us they would sale it to us for $45,000. the house needs about $20 to $25,000 in repairs.
Not worth it.
And I don't guess our friendship is either.
They better not in the future, want to borrow a cup of sugar off of me.
And they are definitely off my Christmas card list.

Re: Neighbors

Yeah that doesn't sound very fair now that I understand a bit better.
If you guys were just neighbors, then it might be different but you do sound like you were actual friends and I don't think friends should do each other that way.
