US Now At War With Iran
Compiled by sarasara. One of the first things that Secretary of State Dr. Condeleeza Rice promised after her appointment was to consult broadcasters in Iraq and California to see what could be done to intensify the information war to counter Islamist disinformation and propaganda against the United States and her allies in the ME Region. But her main focus in this effort is to beef-up the new psyops war against the Islamic Republic of Iran. US sponsored al Hurra (the free one) is already beating al Jazeera for viewers in Iraq. al Hurra also has a Persian service and is one of two TV stations and one radio station sponsored by the US which is currently broadcasting into Iran. Condi Rice is soon due to hold discussions with Californian Iranian dissident stations which beam programming into Iran 24 hours a day. A combination of light entertainment, talk shows and politics by a dozen or so satellite stations set up by Iranian exiles in the United States is proving to be explosive in the Islamic country. Iranian hardliners have denounced foreign satellite broadcasts for trampling on Islamic values and say they are used increasingly by exiled opposition groups, especially those based in Los Angeles, to stir anti-government unrest. According to official estimates about three million households have access to satellite television, while security forces have in recent years only managed to seize 70,000 sets. Beyond the TV stations a number of democracy groups smuggle out news from the freedom movements in Iran, such as the Student Movement Coordinating Committee for Democracy in Iran (SMCCDI), reports such as; "Reports from across Iran are telling of the massive welcoming of President George W. Bush's inaugural speech and his promise of helping to bring down the last outposts of tyranny," said the Student Movement Coordinating Committee for Democracy in Iran (SMCCDI). "Millions of Iranians have been reported as having stayed home on Thursday night which is their usual weekend and going out night, in order to hear or see the Presidential speech," SMCCDI said. The SMCCDIs response to the Bush win was typical of the response from the Iranian democracy groups: "What had always been missing in order to create a wide scale Iranian democratic revolution...was till now a firm and noticeable world pressure on the Islamic regime. "Many Iranians, who were looking for the World's superpower firm moral support and financial aid to credible secularist opposition groups are now becoming sure that Mr. Bush's agenda is indeed to help them gain Freedom, Secularity and Democracy," SMCCDI said. In the meantime the Iranian Regime has been taken aback by the sheer intensity and rising level of US psyops attacks in all media including the Internet. Information Minister Ali Younesi said on Sunday that recent remarks of US officials including Secretary of State Rice regarding the likelihood of attacking Iran, indicate the launch of a new anti-IRI psychological warfare. According to IRNA, the Iranian regime sponsored news agency, Younesi stressed that Iran is neither Afghanistan nor Iraq. "Iran is capable of preventing each and every plot." Asked about the fate of arrested webloggers, he said, "The good news is that Judiciary Chief Ayatollah Mahmoud Hashemi Shahroudi has ordered that the dossiers of webloggers should be examined carefully. We welcome this initiative and hope that all violations would be dealt with resolutely." One of the believed victims of an alleged media psyops operation developed in the Green Zone media centre in Iraq, an operation known as 'Fisking' is veteran US journalist Seymour Hersh who was allegedly planted with information that US commandos were operating within the Islamic Republic. Others are UK journalist Robert Fisk who was fed with numerous false reports during the Iraq conflict as a result of which he and his editors became totally convinced that the country was not only headed for a civil war but also a punitive Iranian style clerical Regime. The campaign was successful in discrediting both him and his newspaper 'The Guardian' of London due to the resulting errant coverage of Iraq. While the Bush administration has insisted on a truthful reporting of the war from its military information officers yet it has become apparant that the truth has been bent in a limited number of cases to target particularly biased journalists, newspapers and TV media such as The New York times, The Guardian, the Independent and al Jazeera. Both 'The Guardian' and the UK 'Independent' news staff were totally 'gob-smacked' at the outcome of the Iraqi elections, because it was so completely outside all their own predictions of the outcome for Iraq. Most recently al Jazeera was allegedly 'media bombed' with a false report of a US soldier (who later turned out to be a toy action figure) captured by insurgents. Another journalist Paul McGeough of the Sydney Morning Herald was given interviews that led him to allege that Dr. Iyad Allawi, Interim Iraqi PM, had shot six prisoners to death, allegations which later proved groundless and resulted in several well known liberal newspaers such as The New York Times refusing to print his article, a stinging rebuff for one of the great proponents of the Pilger/Moore school of journalism. Whether the journalist had been fisked in order to boost Dr. allawis reputation as a strongman (in the face of a viscious insurgency) or whether to discredit the reporter, is still a matter of conjecture. Asked about the report of the entry of American commandos to Iran, IRI Information Minister Ali Younesi had said, "We hope that American commandos do enter Iran, because they are chickens whom our hawks can take good care of." The very fact that the minister gave credence to the story shows the veracity of the Pentagons top secret 'New Generation PSY Bloodless Warfare Ops" now being waged against the Islamic Regime. Foreign Ministry Spokesman Hamid Reza Asefi admitted "threats recently posed by US officials against Iran are part of a psychological war." Iranian dissidents know that because the Mullahs must keep their population ignorant of what is happening in the world at large and especially about their war with the Americans, objectively truthful information about Iran and the US is the first step towards returning Iran to its citizens and eventually peace with the world around them. Expatriate Iranian groups are requesting from Condi Rice the opportunity to get communications equipment into Iran such as bulk cheap radio sets, for they also recognize that breaking that isolation is the first step towards mobilizing the overthrow of the Islamist Mullahs. Why do you watch Al Jazeera? I've never seen it, apart from any other consideration I only speak my native tongue so there would not be much pount viewing it. I don't watch the German channels either although some of the videos they show don't need words ![]() |
