Question Tree Toppers?

When I was a kid, my dad and I went out and bought the most ungodly tree topper ever. It was a silver tinsellly star with colored lights on it. To a 6 year old it was beautful. To my mom it was gaudy and every year it was a big joke about putting on the Ugly Tree Topper. It's since disappeared and I miss it.
I also have one that is a plastic circle of holly and berries with Rudolph in the middle. It lights up too. The one I use most though is a ball and spire affair (gold) that my mom bought.

So...what tops your tree??

Re: Tree Toppers?

I am unable to have a tree topper as I made a bit of a boo boo

I went out a couple of years ago and decided we needed a new Christmas tree, well I brought an amazing 8ft artifical Christmas tree, here lays the problem, from floor to ceiling it's 7ft! So I have to bend the top of the tree over now

Hey! That's a great idea YZ!! If we had an FG Christmas tree, that would be the ideal topper!!

Oh no! I picture this giant tree with a big curl on the top where it's bent!
That's cute, Suzy!

I had an angel on top for a few years, more one of those older style
ones with a maroon colored robe and a golden banner, but I wanted
to try and get back to my childhood and get a glass (simple) tree
topper. I looked and looked and looked, even on ebay for a vintage one,
but it seemed like so much to spend so I kept looking. Martha Stewart
had some at Kmart, but they were all Santas so I didn't want that.
Then when I was in Longs looking for something else, I went down an
aisle and saw toppers 50% off! Right up my alley so now we have a
really nice coppery-gold real glass tree topper... for all of $2.69!

Wow Val! That's a steal! Those glass ones aren't usually cheap!

I did that too! I've bent the top of my tree over a couple of times and forcefully shove the angel on top, she's not too happy but tuff!

Just a quick question. Did anyone suggest that maybe you could cut a foot off the bottom of the tree?
Spot will explain to you how I am sure..

Re: Tree Toppers?

When I was a child we always had a star....and I loved it...and like RG stated, it was probably ugly to my mom, I think I remember her complaining about it...but I loved it....In my adult years, I've had Stars and Angels, The one I have now is a star...it doesn't light up like the last one though....I think I liked my Angels the best....as they were gifts to me....
