The American people are incapable of political humour and satire? I'm a (British) guest here...so I can't say. Answering that question would be impertinent...or ENTIRELY pertinent. Actually, the American peole are like the British people in that we none of us of like our satire to be coralled into a forum. Be funny!? Bugger off! Regards, shrike. |

Of course. Point taken, Lon. Anyone who was any good wouldn't post their stuff for free in a forum. They'd try to get paid for it ...a wonderful American principle with which I agree! Regards, shrike. |

Shrike, there is a support thread here. Your intentions are unclear, what is it you are looking for?

Re: Political Humour and Satire
I thought this forum was for humour of a political nature. Not people bitching about each other.
Be nice - I'm fragile. I haven't been on this forum very long and I'm still trying to work out how it all works. Political satire is one of my favourite forms of humour. I wish I could think of something funny to put on to cheer up the place - but I can't. Sorry chaps and chappesses. Helen ![]() |

Re: Political Humour and Satire
I would say the reason why nobody posted any political satire is we're trying to be friendly and have respect for each other. Let's face it, the last American presidential campaign was...rather ugly. A lot of people became very passionate about their beliefs. There was a lot of arguing and fighting and people on both sides resorted to conduct...unbecomming, of decent human beings. Maybe in a while after people have calmed down we can start joking about it. But at least in my state, of california, I'm still walking on glass around democrats.
However, that's not really a bad thing. Sometimes using your freedom of speech to insult others isn't the best way to go. It takes a big person to hold their tongue out of respect.
