A tragic legacy

Twenty years ago Sherena was torn away from the white foster parents who adored her, by politically correct council officials who decided that white families should be banned from looking after ethnic or black children. She is sueing the Council for £300,000 ($577,300).

She is now to be united with her foster parents Ron and Evelyn who had nursed the abused 3 year old back to health. She had been tied up in a tiny cubbord size room, teeth kicked out, burned, and put into baths of scalding water. The foster parents cared for and loved her for the next 4 years until she was taken away even though she was thriving and happy.

They sent birthday, christmas cards and gifts to her over the years without any response, and never saw or heard from her again until they saw her shocking story in the paper and her case against the council.

After she was removed Sherena's life fell apart. She was beaten and sexually abused by different foster carers and then shunted from one residential care home after another before serving 2 years in prison for robbery at a hostel.

Today she is blind in her left eye, suffers depression, agrophobia and cannot lift her right arm above her shoulder, a result, doctors believe, of repeated beatings as a child.

Re: A tragic legacy

A similar thing happened in my home town, the council wrenched a mixed race toddler from its white aunt & uncle and told them she was to be adopted by an asian family, the family fought for the right to adopt their niece but to no avail and the girl was taken, the family was told they were to have no more contact.

Years later when she was of age the girl went searching for her aunt & uncle who had since moved to Spain but fortunatly was over here on holiday.

They had a fantastic reunion and took thier flesh and blood back into the fold, but was furious to find that their niece had grown up in foster homes with no loving family asian, or other around her!!

Shame on the councils & social services
