Talking Hello All. I'm a new member. ;)

HI! I just joined yesterday. First of all, i just want to say i love the way this forum covers all the topics that are so relevant for us to know of today's world....I can't understand why most people i know, wish to remain so ignorant. Oh well.

Secondly, this has got to be the first forumgroup of members i've had the fortune of hearing such positive comments. I've seen no flaming to speak of, and SOOOO much informative content.

I'll just leave a little about me, so you know who the guy behind "Serenity" handle is.

I'm 21 and live in B.C. Canada.
Ever since i was about 10, i've had an increasingly developing fear/impatience of not becoming a person in poverty.

It is.only until just recently that i've started to get a slow grasp on the cycle of our society. School never made much sense to me, and i always new that there was something more in EVERYTHING the world's told me, then to what there really was goin on behind the scenes.
(After having read "Rich dad Poor Dad", it was very clear to understand how school educates you to be employed. I guess i could sense it, yet it never clicked."

Politics/ World Affairs and wealth has basically become my life.......i'm not exactly happy about it...... My friends are worried for they think i'm becoming overconsumed trying to understand the world in a matter and get wealthy too soon with too much pressure.
Personally , i don't think i'm committing myself enough! I think not enough people try to inform themselves about what the world leaders are doing that influences our very lives, that everybody has a hard time trying to make easier and don't understand how to.

My main motivation behind everything I'm currently doing seems to be "Delayed Gratification" ...post-poning my immediate daily enjoyment in order to get out of our daily "rat race" lives.

I'm always searching for beneficial influence in order to achieve such desires, and that has what -to my great fortune- has lead me here.

I'm hoping to network with people here, so we can all come out on top of the "game".

Thanks everybody!

Fraser

Yes, networking can be profitable and I know several people who telecommute from their homes as consultants and they get many referrals from online clients. They advertise on the Web and I think it's nice that this forum allows small business advertising. But I would condition that on advertisers becoming contributing members.

Glad to have a Canadian member. I'm going to be going up to Calgary in September and I'm looking forward to a beautiful drive through the blue Canadian Rockies.

Welcome Serenity! It's nice to have you on the forums with us. It's a fun place to be because we all share similar interests in many things.

You are young enough that you have a mighty long runway in which to be successful in life. Make sure you *enjoy the journey. Otherwise, you will look up in a few decades and lament what has passed you by.

I look forward to reading more of your posts on the forums.

Bye!

Welcome. You have joined a great discussion group. My favorite big band, Rob Mc Connel is out of Canada, as is Peter Jennings. Many Canadians deliver good times for me. I will look for your threads.

well, the general canadian attitude is that of a light-hearted nature.
I know we come across to americans as beer swillin, bacon lovin, igloo owners but it's quite funny how most of us think we're "peace lovin americans" with better health-care! haha (though that's debatable )

I'm not sure how we ever landed that "Mr. nice country" gig, because i find a lot of people are fuggin arrogant here as much as anywhere.
I think the big difference that sets Canadians and Americans apart, is that Americans have more drive. want to see more results. and are just more profit-driven. Though that can be experienced here too, there's such a slack canadian attitude of what i refer to as "retirement before you work".

lots of canadians see Americans as the destroyers of all things green and comfortable, but i think the real truth of the matter is we just sit back, let americans take the heat for the advancements- then bring them across the line and get comfortable on that lifestyle ourselves- and as a result we're that much less innovative and that much more a consumer rather then a competitive producer.

i guess you can call that balance.

It's sure discouraging when you're trying to be the next up and coming capitalist in a social wel-fare state.

I once spoke to a dentist who had friends in washington, in the same practice.
he told me this. " The main difference between the US and CAN is in the US you're encouraged to make money". For me- that was enough said. haha.
