Mum's - don't ya luv 'em !
When I talk about my mum at work, I'm sure people think I make her up. She's absolutely loopy and I love her to death. Here's why....
She's still got some of her £50 credit on her mobile phone from me buying it two years ago She sent me a text message without spaces because she couldn't find the 'space bar' She tried to dial her voicemail but ended ringing my cousin in Cyprus She still grabs my arm when crossing the road After Sunday lunch she still sends me out to the ice-cream van with a casserole dish and get me to ask for 'a pounds worth' If she says words like 'lesbian' she whispers it She always wipes the bottles I drink out of 'because cats have wee'd all over them' She played her Diana Ross CD and then turned it over 'to play the other side'. She thinks a bit of 'fresh air' solves all health problems If I'm ever ill she rings me to make sure I've done a poo! And the contents of her handbag include - 3yr old sweets, old tissues, a straw, teaspoon, a sewing kit and an oxo cube ? Anyone else got a loopy mother? ![]() |

Re: Mum's - don't ya luv 'em !
Definately!!!
Everytime I say I'm feeling sick (nauseous) my mum assumes I'm pregnant!! She'll walk two miles to a shop to save 2 or 3p. When having a conversation she talks in half sentences constantly changing the subject, only my sister and I can understand her half the time! She refused to buy toilet rolls made out of recycled paper as she thought it was recycled toilet roll!!! She puts things away in a 'safe place', never to be seen again!! On entering a public toilet she still reminds me not to sit on the seat as you don't know what you might catch. When she's expecting me to visit she puts a glass of water in the fridge for me as she's concerned I'm costing her money (she's got a water meter) by running the tap to ensure my drink of water is cold!! lots more I can't think of, she's provided us with some good giggles over the years but now she's 72 I think we can allow her some senior moments!!! |

Re: Mum's - don't ya luv 'em !
My mom is a health fanatic and takes every kind of vitamin. She constantly tells me I need to be on a certain vitamin for a certain problem I might have at that particular moment.
She never leaves her cell phone on because she says the battery might run down. She only uses her cell to make phone calls. Whenever I visit, she is forever trying to feed me. Even if I tell her "I am not hungry". There are always lots of goodies at moms house. Her fridge and freezer are always FULL of food. When the word SEX is mentioned she starts to blush and she speaks in a lowered voice. If you have ever watched ALL IN THE FAMILY, my parents fit the characters of Archie and Edith to the max. Mom is mom and for that reason I love her dearly and I hope she never changes. |
