Adventures in MOving
It took me with my husbands help and friends and family members since April 22 to move from a tiny one bed room into a tiny two bedroom. That's why I haven't been on. My landlord tried to evic me , because my child, my sick helpless child was crying int he middle of the night. And the nieghbors didn't like it. So thankfully at the same time my husbands well part of my husbands income tax comes in. And BAM! we have a new apartment. So we started packing one weekend and by the next we were in here. But we had alot of STUFF. Not to mention the kids stuff as well. It's unbelieveable how much stuff you collect in three years. My basement was full from top to bottom. My dad rented a small budget. You know they really rip you off, those truck companies. Ya, they say the truck is something like 19.95 only. But then there is insurence and mileage. It's unbelievable. I had to pay a friend a hundred dollars two make two mini van rides to my house. I owe my dad 2 hundred something dollars for the truck which started out has 24. or so. And then my father and my husband took almost 7 hours to clean and pack everything in the pit(storage area). Then they threw some of it away. and brought the rest here. It took me and my husband about four more trips in my small coutour to do the rest. I went with out the kids and shoved my beautiful pre lighted christmas tree with scattered decoration in a box, and I shoved in the back seat. and a big toy train. Anyway then it took us almost a straight 36 hours to un pack. My husband came over yesterday and put the crib together. Now I owe my dad 585. dollars. I borrowed 180 the week before so I can have my transmission cap fixed on my car. It's just been NUTS!!! All this to move from one end of town to the othere. Only seven minutes away,. 15 with the lights. And we have to do it again in six months. or so. Well thats what's been going on. I am bushed. elton Jonh is playing on the stero and the kids are playing on the kitchen floor w/ there little cars and my husband is here washing dishes. All is right with the world tonight. But I will find away to screw it up. ps. It rained the whole two weeks practically and it was unseasonable COLD!! |

Re: Adventures in MOving
$1,2075.00 to move my 3 bedroom house 13 miles. They only brought 2 people after I told them I had an 800 pound piano and many more heavy antiques. They broke so much stuff and it took a year to get the money out of them to pay for the repairs. AND I bought breakfast and lunch for them.

Re: Adventures in MOving
Really lady cop.
now it's not my business. But why would you want to move to England for. I hear it's always raining their. And there is no news their. How in the world are you going to keep up with things. I don't know, I wouldn't know how you do it. I would be worried to. That would put me in such a snit. Now will you be able to continue on forrum garden if you move??? well good luck, you are going to need it. ![]() |

Re: Adventures in MOving
Ye we have elctric lights, running water, Televison, radio, central heating etc etc, we are really quite advanced you know, we had a thing called the industrial revolution over here when I believe people in other countries may not have been as advanced as we were at the time.
