Mike Tyson had derisively described our Kevin McBride as ''a tomato can''. But it was Iron Mike who was made to look like a vegetable as no-hoper Kevin McBride ended the career of the former world heavyweight champion after six rounds of their fight in Washington DC.
The Irish flag was once again flying in Clones County Monaghan, Kevin's hometown.
The 31-year old boxer says he wants to become Ireland's first champion of the world

Good - I despise Tyson; but I heard that your boy wouldn`t have stood much chance if Tyson had been his `old self`! Incidentally, why the poxy new avatar????????!!!!!!!!!! (yep, I hate cowell, too!)

i am not a tyson fan...i felt bad for him after that fight though. what a shattered man. i wanted to give him a hug!

Tyson did lose the fight, but let's not forget that he was the youngest Heavyweight Champ of the World. I don't care for the guy too much but to be the Heavyweight champ is an astounding accomplishment in it's own right. He is also one of the biggest idiots to win the title. He won over 300Million dollars in his career only to lose it all is still millions of dollars in debt to the Government. How he still has is 3Million dollar estate in Arizona is strange. He got paid 5Million dollars for the fight on Saturday night.

Also, I hope McBride doesnt think he is actually going to be the Heavyweight Champ of the world someday? He wouldnt last one round in the ring with the big names in the sport. I bet George Foreman at the age of 56 could wipe the floor with him.

Give him time?? He's already 31. To be a champ, he needs to lose about 20 pounds of fat and put it back on in the form of muscle. McBride will never be a champ. He will get a shot at a big name guy from this fight, but he will lose and lose badly.
