A sermon broadcast last Friday on PA (Palestinian Authority) television called for the subjugation of all Christian countries under Islam and the extermination of every Jew.



The Moslem cleric, Ibrahim Mudayris, told his Arab audience, “The day will come and we shall rule America, Britain, we shall rule the entire world, except the Jews.” He explained that, unlike the Christian countries, Jews cannot be placed under subjugation. He told PA television viewers that the only fate awaiting Jews is death by extermination.

Seriously, Clint, I think you're spreading a race-hate lie. I can't find any reference to such a call on any reputable news source - most particularly, the Press Association put out no such release, that was the first thing I checked. Here, in summary, is what Shaykh Ibrahim Mudayris actually said in his May 13th sermon - I think if the sermon had called for anything like what you've copied here, it would have been noted.

The following is a round-up of Friday sermons carried by the news media of Saudi Arabia, Yemen, Jordan, West Bank and Gaza Strip, Syria and Qatar on 13 May.

West Bank and Gaza Strip

Palestine Satellite TV carries at 0946 gmt a live sermon from Shaykh Zayid Mosque in Gaza.

Shaykh Ibrahim Mudayris delivers the sermon, which he devotes to the 57th anniversary of Al-Nakbah ("the catastrophe," in reference to the events that befell the Palestinians in 1948.)

He says: "Our Palestinian people commemorate one of the worst occasions in their entire history; it is the anniversary of the loss of the homeland and dispersion of the people. It is the anniversary of the loss of the land of Palestine and the dispersion of the Palestinian people all over the world."

The imam describes the State of Israel as "a cancer" in the body of the Islamic nation and says: "Jews suffered the worst crimes known to history, but they are not worse than what they are doing to the people of Palestine." He refers to "crimes" committed by Israel in the Palestinian areas, such as the demolition of homes and reports that people have been buried alive under the debris; he talks particularly about the recent incidents involving Hajj Ashur and Ihab Malakah. He also recalls the "crimes" of Dayr Yasin and Sabra and Shatila.

He says: "Palestine was occupied by Britain, which we hold fully responsible for what is taking place on this land. On this occasion, we hold Britain responsible and say that we have a sense of vengeance that we will never forget. We will never forget this sense of vengeance against Britain, which must assume its historical, political, and moral responsibility for what it did on the land of Palestine from the time it set foot on it." He adds: "Britain is responsible up to this moment for every drop of blood that flows on this land. Were it not for Britain's support for the Zionist movement, the Jews would not have had a national home on this land."

The imam recalls past Palestinian uprisings, saying the Palestinians put up a tough resistance, particularly in the 1936 uprising, and he blames Arab neighbours, without naming them, for "betraying the cause" by opening their borders to let Palestinians emigrate. "But we are still steadfast on the land. We decided to be the spearhead in defence of our holy places and land. We asserted the Arab identity of Jerusalem. Jerusalem shall remain Arab as long as one of your children lives on this land."

The imam continues with the same theme in the second sermon. He says Palestinians are defending the dignity and honour of the Arab and Islamic nation and that this situation cannot continue forever. He recalls the demise of old empires, the British Empire and the Soviet Union, and says: "The one who removed these empires will also remove the United States, God willing. The one who did away with Russia overnight will do away with the United States, despite what it does here." He refers to the "massacres committed by US forces in Al-Qa'im" on the border with Syria and says Syria will be the next target.

The imam concludes with a prayer for steadfastness on the land, repatriation of the refugees, and the release of prisoners.

I don't mind that you've passed it on, not everyone's going to check sources. What I'd bring to mind, though, is that somewhere there's a gentleman, the author of the race-hate lie which you copied, who feels it's his business to make Shaykh Ibrahim Mudayris even more of an object of hate than his rank and position entitle him to, and to try to add to the sufferings of Muslims worldwide. That gentleman, at least, knew what he was doing and what he was doing it with.

I note also that the gentleman was trying, in his way, to bias the minds of the US electorate.

I don't even think this particular gentleman had authority, I think he was doing it off his own bat.

What I posted was part of an article I took off of the national news paper, Arutz Sheva. I’ve been trying, but I can’t get their site to open this morning. I don’t want to be posting something that is not accurate. I will be looking into it further.

I'm fairly sure if you look hard enough you will find some fundamentalist christian somewhere that wants to burn non believers.

Come to that i know a few e protestants that want to burn catholics, roman candle has different meanings depending where you go.

Here it is just as I read it. It is the connection to Hamas that is disturbing.

The cleric, Sheikh Ibrahim Mudeiras, who has become a symbol of Palestinian hatred of Israel and the Western world, said the day will come when Islam “will rule Britain”.

“We hold this opportunity to hold Britain accountable and say there is revenge we can never forget. We cannot forego the revenge we want to exact from Britain. We hold Britain responsible for what happened in Palestine. Britain is the cause, till this very minute, of every drop of blood dripping in this land,” Mudeiras told Arab viewers in the Palestinian Authority.

Mudeiras set forth an Islamic program for world domination, claiming that Islam will ultimately prevail and rule both Britain and the United States.

“I say to you: You must look at our situation with an outlook of confidence in Allah's victory! If you help Allah [spread Islam], Allah will bring you victory. We once ruled the world and the day will come when, by god, we will rule the entire world.

“The day will come when we will rule the United States, the day will come when we will rule Britain, we will rule the whole world [and all will live in peace and comfort under our rule] except the Jews. The Jews will not live in peace and comfort under our rule. Treachery will keep being their nature throughout history. The day will come when the whole world will rid itself of the Jews.”

Mudeiras’ speech was filled with anti-Semitic invective, rivaling some of the worst propaganda to come out of Nazi Germany. See article, “Subjugate Christians, Exterminate Jews” in the Arab Press section of INN’s website.

Despite the anti-British rhetoric broadcast on Palestinian television, British officials have confirmed reports that discussion is underway regarding opening ties with Hamas members who may be elected to the Palestinian Authority (PA) parliament.

Mudeiras is a Moslem cleric affiliated with Hamas.

British Foreign Secretary Jack Straw told Foreign Minister Silvan Shalom that Israel need not worry, explaining his government will not open relations with terrorists, but is considering some level of contact with persons who recognize the State of Israel’s right to exist, and have turned to a life which shuns terrorism.

Foreign Ministry official Gideon Meir stated that any contact with Hamas by a foreign government, on any level, will only serve to strengthen the terror organization and facilitate efforts towards continuing attacks against Israel.

OK, this is at least the same sermon we're looking at, and we can see it's a different translator.

Firstly, let me say that prefixing a copy of a news report "PA" is usually taken to be an indicator of a direct quote from that authoritative source, the Press Association. Now that we've cleared up that misunderstanding, your initial post was unattributed.

Now you've copied it from your source to here, and still left it without a URL for me to get back to the original page. I've looked at the newspaper site you mentioned in a third post, "Arutz Sheva", and I can't find the source.

May I have a URL to the place you copied from, please?
