Vacation Ideas Needed

I have never seen the ocean and would like to this summer. Since I'm in Ohio, I'm thinking Ocean City, Maryland or Virginia Beach. Any suggestions of places to stay, sites to see, etc.?

I wish, but being as we are driving, I want to spend as little time as possible in the car.

i can understand that! but a few extra hours in the car could bring you to the most beautiful beaches in America...i am so amazed that you have never seen the ocean i want to do something about it! as much as i complain about florida, you have to see white sand, palm trees and blue water! when do you leave?

I am presenty in Tom's River New Jersey Peg, and have been doing the different beaches along the south Jersey coast for the past three days. Today we are heading to Cape May. Do a Google Search on the Jersey shore and you will see some pretty nice beaches. This would be closer for you than going to Maryland or Virginia Beach.
