Authorities in Iran have ordered a crackdown on curvaceous shop-window mannequins. The shop dummies will also have to wear veils.

A new Police manual says: 'Using unveiled mannequins that reveal their bodies' curves is banned.

I think I heard that they're going to change the Barbie Doll figure to a more realistic form. No more big breasts and tiny hips.

I remember a very touching scene I witnessed in Playa Azul. Two little Indio girls were staging an imaginary conversation between their naked Barbie dolls. I wonder what they were saying.

I thought about how different they were from their perfect gringa dolls and I knew they couldn't even imagine the kind of world that the real Barbie girls live in. The naked Barbies were a very profound metaphor.
