My baby is 1 now!

Wow i look at my little angel and it is hard to believe that it is one whole year since my little cameron was born to us! also it is 1 year since we found out about the Down's Syndrome. It has been an emotional rollercoaster ride but when i look at him i cant imagine him any other way and i wouldn't want him any other way either. He is my beautiful cheeky little monkey and i love him to bits!

I wonder what the upcoming year will have in store for us?

Oh Debabe we have alot to talk about. ON Jan 13, 04 my daughter Amber was born. When she came out she had the slanted eyes , the big chest, the high, forhead , eyes did not match up with her ears. right away they tested her for down sydrome. Then I had to take her to a heart specialist. Well she didn't have an abian line on her hand and her teast came out Neg.

But she had a cleft pallet, last Dec. she had that fixed. When they did, the breathing tube fell out and she asperated on fluid, and she ended up in ICU for a day and half. Then she had to get tubes in her ears for her hearing, she has hip displasia , displacement. and a 38 degree curve of the spine.

So even know my child does not have downs. I feel your plight.

Wow what a story honey sounds like you have had a rough time of it! I have been lucky in many ways as Cameron could be far far worse than he is. He has escaped so far without all the medical problems that could of hit.

You are so right about special children going to special parents. I never used to think like that though as you see in 2001 i lost a baby at 23 weeks and our baby (Rebecca Sophie Louise) had spina bifida of the sacral region. we found out at my 20 week scan and we were all set to have her but she had other ideas. Then we had our older boy without any problems but then when we had Cameron and they said he had DS i was sure i was being punished, that i must have done something really bad to have these things happen to my children and to us! but now i realise that this isn't a punishment we are in fact blessed to have these incredible children in our lives and i am honoured to be Camerons mum and as for our little angel Becky she had a greater calling and has gone on to be with god in heaven.

I know i am waffling now but i would love to speak to you more honey if you would like?

oh what a beautiful little boy. Wow he is beaming with sunshine. Yes we have had a rough time. but amber brings us so much joy who wants to complain. We will be getting her brace on Friday and she will be all set. well at least the mold.

i know i probably sound thick but is the brace to help her walk because of her spine or hips?

She has a brace for here hips, because of the displasia, and now she will be getting one for her spine on friday>Well at least a mold.
