Re: remeber those who have left us
I'd like to remember Oma (my Dutch grandma) who I admired very much. She faced some terrible things in her life, was a Japanese prisoner of war camp for five years (my dad spent his early years there too) was left by her husband later and left to shift for herself. Sadly, her last years were pretty awful, she slowly drowned in her own lungs. She was incredibly strong willed and highly intelligent, I had a lot of respect for her.
Second is my cousin Grant who died after his motorbike slid on a diesel spill. He was only nineteen, pretty tragic really. I feel both of them around me now and again which is nice, so I know they're not lost to me completely. |

Re: remeber those who have left us
I can't imagine what losing your parents is like, I'm hoping that's all a while away yet, though I did have a scare with my dad a while back.
A few other people I'd like to put in here would be a friend that I worked with who died when she was seventeen from lymphatic cancer (which one of my year 9's was recently diagnosed with) which she never knew she had. Another friend in Malta who was an alchoholic, she choked on her own vomit and left two little kiddies behind...that was so sad. Also a couple of kids that i worked with, both twelve years old. One got mashed by a car on Yarmouth bridge and the other hung himself one night. They're probably the ones that really got to me the most. |

Re: remeber those who have left us
my uncle linton...he died of a heart attack when he was forty two years old...he was my moms youngest brother..he always said he thought of me as a sister instead of a niece...he was a bad alchoholic..in between drinking he was a good man..its a shame that the alchohol ruled his life like it did...and ultimately is what caused his heart attack....
