Cyber Security

My husband keeps getting things popping up about Cyber Security. From what I can find about it, it isn't a good thing. I've tried d/l hijackthis, and it will only download part of it. I've tried to d/l malwarebytes, it won't run. His Avira did not detect anything. Add/remove programs will not get rid of it. Any help will be appreciated.

You have a virus you might try restoring back to a different day(most like won't make a difference). Or try removing it in safe mode. To go into safe mode turn off your PC or Laptop then turn it on again immediately start tapping the F8 key don't stop till you see system starting in safe mode. The select safe mode with out NETWORK it will start all icons are huge. Go to the control panel and try and remove it. When in safe mode you might also look for the program in your C:/ Drive under PROGRAMS right click on it and delete it that way this may allow you the ability to then run MALWAREBYTES in normal mode.
You may also be able to run Malwarebytes in safe mode but not sure of that.
Y
I'm headed out for a couple hours. When I get back if you would like my free services I can logon to your machine and see what I can do remotely.

Its not sounding good if Malwarebytes won't run in regular mode.

Thanks! I never thought of safe mode. I'll try and let you know.

If you would like I can logon to your machine and see what I can do remotely. Just PM an email address so you can start a session that will allow me a window to your machine.

my neighbour just had that two weeks ago, his computer was frozen, he had to shut it right down, now it still appears, but it no longer freezes. His brother is an IT expert and will be coming to check it.

its definitely a virus his brother had told him.

It took a bit of thinking on my part but I think it is history. Let me know if the nasty thing shows up again.
