Citroen C1 ev'ie.
Will cost £16,850 (N.B. *list price*).
Top speed supposedly 60MPH - OK in commuting traffic (say 50MPH "normal" speed). Supposedly 70 mile range 0 OK for a normal 30-mile round trip. 90p to charge overnight. No road tax. Reduced running costs. So, say 260 working days in a year, 7800 miles. Fuel cost for commute C1 ev'ie £234 50MPG car £668 approx. Fuel saving = £334. No road tax £120 Other savings £??? Total = £500?? I don't think it'll fly of the forecourts. Pity. Add to this: £5,000 Gov't. subsidy - by the time that comes in, £10K for the car? If in London, no Congestion Charge. Free parking (perhaps). |
