That bit must be wrong. If Jose Illegal gets $500 per month Federal rent subsidy and then pays rent of $500.00 per month, then he is still keeping $31,200.00 per annum.

Don't forget, Jose Illegal will also be letting his huge family live in his rented house too. Those who work days will sleep in the beds at night, those who work nights will sleep in the beds during the day. Others will sleep in sleeping bags crowded into all available floor space. All women in the house will claim for 16 dependent children each and will have photographs of the same 4 children (taken from many different angles) to 'prove' those 16 children exist. These women will know words such as 'house' 'money' and 'give me' but will be unable to speak any other words in the English Language, thus avoiding having to answer any awkward questions.

Jose Illegal doesn't have nights and weekends off to enjoy with his family as he considers that to be womens work. Instead he has weekend and night jobs where he gets even more cash in hand. If possible, he will get to run local corner shops where he can sell out of date goods at quadruple the prices charged by the previous owners. His idea of a good joke is to watch Joe Legal count out his change for some bread and milk for his kids, which is all he can afford.

Jose Illegal continues to siphon money off the state until he becomes a multi-millionaire. He teaches all his relatives how to claim benefits so they can become multi-millionaires too.

Joe Legal's boss can no longer afford to employ him because he needs to spend more money on food for his kids at Jose Illegal's corner store.

Joe Legal applies for welfare, but is refused because there is not enough money left in the funds for the rest of the fiscal year.

Yes, but he's greedy and it gives him a bigger profit margin.


Or from a more charitable point of view, maybe thats the only way for him to survive in business, perhaps he would otherwise be outpriced by his competitors. Perhaps?

Interesting argument, however, much of it is false.

Let's start with something pretty basic - the math. 70% of $52,000 is $36,400, not $31,200.

Then the facts of the eligibility - for rent subsidy (Section 8 housing), for food stamps, for medical insurance, etc...
