He was the one that wanted to restore an absolute catholic monarchy and believed in the divine right of kings so he would probably have set fire to liberals-dangerous radicals you see A defender of freedom and liberty he most definitely was not.
Liberals are not quite the same here as they are in the states-where the word seems to have changed it's meaning and become an insult. I can never understand why anyone would be opposed to individual liberty and freedom- concepts which at at the heart of liberalism yet in America they seem willing to reject the very principles behind their constitution. New-speak in action indeed.

Mind you I could be persuaded to blow up the present lot. Our MP's commit blatant fraud and think an apology is all that is needed-just see what happens if a benefit cheat tries that one in court.

I understand the feeling toward MP's who fiddle their expenses to the point of fraud but I do not agree with the new report that say's MP's can not claim for second homes. Many MP's win seats in area's not where their homes needing a second home or a home nearer to Westminster. I do have sympathy there.

There are two types of benifit scrounger. The worst for me is the one's who know full well they are cheating the system. The One's who are in relationships and won't live together so they can claim rent and Council tax with benifit for both properties instead as a couple. Some even move in with the girlfriend or boyfriend and then rent their flats out to family or friends while still claiming all the benifits for that address. When you look deeper, these are the people who are taking holidays abroad, down the pub most nights and are out on Jolly's day time while you and I scratch a living having paid our taxes all our lives. They are the one's that should rightly go to prison. We have genuine single mums in this country on benifit going without and doing all they can to provide a decent life for their kids while the above mentioned take full, blatent pisse out of the system.

I don't have any sympathy at all for the ones that "flip" the designation in order to save themselves tax or who claim for the house their relatives are living in these are the ones who should go to prison but they're not even being forced to reign their seats and will walk away with their pensions etc intact. We have genuine MP's in this country who do an excellent job ( Irony get it) without taking the blatant **** out of the system.

It's the sheer bloody hypocrisy of it all that annoys me. Benefit cheat should go to jail, tax cheating fraudulent MP says sorry and keeps his job and benefits. Pah!

This is a diversionary smokescreen aimed at daily mail readers, who have the attention span of a gnat, to take their attention of the crooked bastards.

I don't like benefit scroungers either but they haven't bankrupted the country while making themselves rich-our MP's have.

Old etonians wagging fingers at benefit cheats while they rip us of for hundreds of thousand just doesn't do it for me.

Most are as bad as each other. There is the arguement that If MP's are paid the wages they deserve and there are some good MP's, then they would not have to take advantage of the expenses. this is what happens when they stand in Constituancy's miles from their homes. Like it or not, they do need a second home nearer to the Constituancy they represent and It has to be paid for.
Benifit cheats who rent out their flat while living with their girlfriend and boyfriend and claim for both properties are blatently fraudulent and need to be charged with fraud. Most do de-fraud benifit out of sheer desperation but some know exactly what they are doing. It's usually that type who like to preach to others same as our MP's. The expenses scandel is no different to the John Major Government preaching to us about family morals and then we find out he's been slipping Edwina one all along.

Taking advantage of their expenses-is that a euphemism for playing the system, ripping it off, fraudulently claiming benefits they are not entitled to-oh sorry that's the benefit cheats isn't it.

Don;t get me wrong i have no time for benefit cheats but I might l take david Cameron seriously if he arranged for those MPs caught blatantly doing the Westminster equivalent of cheating the benefit system to be imprisoned.

maybe the daily expressl should be banging the drum about that

I would like to see both treated equally. However, some benifit cheats do it out of desperation and that should be taken into account when sentencing.
I agree with you about the MP's who play the system though.

MP's don't have even that excuse. It's the double standards that are being applied that annoy me. For MP's that see nothing wrong with what they have done to moralise about the proclivities of scumbags to play the benefit system while taking a side-swipe at single parents as being the leading cause of the decline in moral values in society beggars belief.

I must admit, sending the worst MP's to prison would ram the message home to others eh? My local MP got a right roasting in the local rag over his expenses. Now he'll go down in history as the man who spent £169 on a toaster for his second home whilst representing one of the poorest area's of the City. He even came out and defended why he needed that toaster. Made my day that did !!!
I don't have a problem with single mums... they are not all teenage mums playing the system as demonised by the Labour Government and the press. Most are women who's husbands have abandoned them and the CSA can't nail them. As you know, I'm standing in the election. I get all sorts of gumph sent to me to study and I've got training to go on. Yet, one of the first piles of gumph I had to go through was how to claim a grant for standing and how to claim my expenses If I win... says a lot really !!!
