    1) in answer to the question posed by your good self.

Do any of the odd sounding parties have a chance? Out of the bunch, which would you say has the most public appeal?
    2) completely unrelated except about an election

The Italians giving 25% of the vote to a party started by a comedian has given them new hope.
The italian gave a prty started by a comedian 25% of the vote - they now have new hope. TheirnPR system means that a partylike that that get a good percentage of the vote actually has a chance of influencing things. In the UK first past thenpost means the least unpopuklar party gets theseat. Look at the results over 60% of the vote was not for the lib dems. Or if you prefer the ioinion of the majority of the voters in the by election has been ignored.

    2)

just an observation on my part

The Christian party will probably lose their deposits - at least they do up here.
Parties pursuing a religious agenda tend to get nowhere in the UK.

OK I'll concede I didn't make myself very clear.

The UKIP vote is a protest by tory voters over the coalition, whjether over the eu or things in general is open to question.

What Interests me more Is the gains made by UKIP..
They are not a million miles away In policies to the BNP. Both want of of the EU but both have an Immigration Policy and both have leaders who speak out about Immigration. I understand that Nick Griffin may not have portrayed the best interests of the Party In recent years but then, Nigel Farage Is generally viewed as being as mad as a box of Syphilitic Frogs.
I don't see this result as a protest by Tory voters at the Coalition... In fact, I don't think that makes sense. With a General not too far away, Tory Voters are looking for a clear majority not defecting or making protests.
I think It's a clear message that the electorate are In fact fed up with Immigration and the EU but the ballot box Is the only way anyone these days can make that clear without being branded a raving racist by the loony Labourites.
UKIP have not just made gains In this By-Election but all over the Country. The gains have been even higher in the North where there are large ethnic communities so I am a little surprised at the % of the swing on the South Coast.
