They suck, I mean after 19 years you'd think i would have learned that... But no, I didn't. This entire week of mine has been entirely ruined because i told a lie and it blew up in my face ruining a really good relationship and a trust that i thought was unbreakable... and seriously it was a really small white lie! Yes, i feel horrible and now the sweet trusting abby who would never lie to hurt someone has been slapped in the face with a lesson that sucks. I was in the belief of the ends justifies the means... yea thanks machivelli or however your name was spelt... thanks buddy.

Has anyone ever told a really lame lie to cover something and it blow up in your face?

In another thread Mikeinie was lamenting the passing of Sexy Angel, who he'd met too late, and not even had a chance to say g'day to. This got my single blonde neuron furiously working and I had a thought...

Maybe we should make a special thread - a sort of memorial garden where we can celebrate the brief but often colourful passing of the banned.

I don't mean the heroic banned - those who earned the privilege through the shedding of blood sweat and tears, but the sad, faceless, unsung brigade who trolled their way softly in here to preach some small meaningless message, to bring to us perhaps a website offering penile enhancement, or a magic weightloss program, or a lawnmower that drives itself or a cell phone that brushes your teeth while playing Waltzing Matilda.

If we are hard hearted, bad eyed and loveless, killer type Gardeners, we can rip off wings, count trophy scalps, and turn what's left into baubles for the FG Christmas Tree.

If we're gentle souls who wish noone ill, we can pause for a moment and remember that there but for the grace of the Mods go we.

May I lay Sexy Angel to rest in this place, the first fruits of the Gathering.

Alas poor Sexy Angel now
We never knew him, anyhow
Bereft of harp and feathers he
Now graces for eternity
The high point of our Chrissie tree

It's that time of year! How do you dispose of the volumes of leafy material?

I have 23 different species on my property, everything from Spruces and Long-needled Pines to Peachcots, Birches, and Russian Olives.

I use a leaf blower to blow them all into the street, (a rake hurts me too much these days) but then I sweep them up and bag them. (I hate it when the neighbors just let them drift around the neighborhood.)

So how do you get rid of them?

Oh...funny thing this year, my Peachcot dropped half it's leaves, then paused for a week. Weird. Then an early snow blew in and covered them before I could get them up! Now I have to work like a madman this weekend before another snow hits!:-3

#16. "You know, stop lights don't come any redder than the one you just went through."

#15. "Relax, the handcuffs are tight because they're new. They'll stretch after you wear them awhile."

#14. "If you take your hands off the car, I'll make your birth certificate a worthless document."

#13. "If you run, you'll only go to jail tired. "

#12. "Can you run faster than 2700 feet per second? Because that's the speed of the bullet that'll be chasing you."

#11. "You don't know how fast you were going? I guess that means I can write anything I want to on the ticket, huh?"

#10. "Yes, sir, you can talk to the shift supervisor, but I don't think it will help. Oh, did I mention that I'm the shift supervisor?"

#9. "Warning? You want a warning? O.K. I'm warning you not to do that again, or I'll give you another ticket!"

#8. "The answer to this last question will determine whether you are drunk or not. Was Mickey Mouse a cat or a dog?"

#7. "Fair? You want me to be fair? Listen, fair is a place where you go to ride on rides, eat cotton candy and corn dogs and step in donkey poop."

#6. "Yeah, we have a quota. Two more tickets and my wife gets a toaster oven."

#5. "In God we trust, all others we run through NCIC."

#4. "How big were those just two beers you say you had?"

It's a serious question and we're all mature enough to take this on.

Though the whys are highly speculative since speaking from an evolutionary view point there is no designer or creator running the show, at least from this evolutionary perspective that is.

From an evolutionary perspective its easy to understand why males climax - to deliver sperm for reproductive purposes and the associated good feeling seems to make it a joyful experience so we will continue to reproduce. The warmth of a close and intimate relationship also contributes to the reproductive will of our species, Getting lost in sexual activity is wonderful on a psychological level.

Some evolutionist believe it (female climaxing) is an adaptation that has developed in order to maintain the interest of a mate, making him feel like hes satisfying and therefore useful.

I can certainly see that perspective and sounds like a reasonable assumption to me and may be correct. But I've been thinking about this and have of course another idea that I think is feasible to consider (and it has nothing to do with autism, Peg :)---surprise). I think female climaxing has another very good reason to exist and thats the 'use it or loose it theory' if you will. In other words, at a certain age for most females, the body must get the idea the child bearing is over and thats when menopause occurs. But isn't it reasonable to think that as long as the female body is still sexually active that it might retard the onset of menopause? I can tell you that my wife still experiences her cycle and since about her mid forties it has shown itself within a few days of sexual activities.

Now, I'm not bragging or anything but hey, what can I say, I'm 53 and she's 50 and we're still going pretty strong.

What are your thoughts? Also, any perspective is welcome, not just that of evolution.

The Allergists voted to scratch it, but the Dermatologists advised
not to make any rash moves. he Gastroenterologists had sort of a gut
feeling about it, but the Neurologists thought the Administration had a lot
of nerve.

The Obstetricians felt they were all laboring under a misconception.
Ophthalmologists considered the idea shortsighted.

Pathologists yelled, "Over my dead body!", while the Pediatricians
said, "Oh, Grow up!" The Psychiatrists thought the whole idea was madness,
while the Radiologists could see right through it.

Surgeons decided to wash their hands of the whole thing. The
Internists thought it was a bitter pill to swallow, and the Plastic Surgeons
said, "This puts a whole new face on the matter."

The Podiatrists thought it was a step forward, but the Urologists
were pissed off at the whole idea. The Anesthesiologists thought the whole
idea was a gas, and the Cardiologists didn't have the heart to say no.

In the end, the Proctologists won out, leaving the entire decision
up to the assholes in Washington!

Joys of Muslim Women
by Nonie Darwish

In the Muslim faith a Muslim man can marry a child as young as 1 year old and have sexual intimacy with this child. Consummating the marriage by 9.

The dowry is given to the family in exchange for the woman (who becomes his slave) and for the purchase of the private parts of the woman, to use her as a toy.

Even though a woman is abused she can not obtain a divorce.

To prove rape, the woman must have (4) male witnesses.

Often after a woman has been raped, she is returned to her family and the family must return the dowry. The family has the right to execute her (an honor killing) to restore the honor of the family. Husbands can beat their wives 'at will' and he does not have to say why he has beaten her.

The husband is permitted to have (4 wives) and a temporary wife for an hour (prostitute) at his discretion.

The Shariah Muslim law controls the private as well as the public life of the woman.

In the West World (America) Muslim men are starting to demand Shariah Law so the wife can not obtain a divorce and he can have full and complete control of her. It is amazing and alarming how many of our sisters and daughters attending American Universities are now marrying Muslim men and submitting themselves and their children unsuspectingly to the Shariah law.

By passing this on, enlightened American women may avoid becoming a slave under Shariah Law.

Ripping the West in Two.

Author and lecturer Nonie Darwish says the goal of radical Islamists is to impose Shariah law on the world, ripping Western law and liberty in two.

She recently authored the book, Cruel and Usual Punishment: The Terrifying Global Implications of Islamic Law.

Darwish was born in Cairo and spent her childhood in Egypt and Gaza before immigrating to America in 1978, when she was eight years old. Her father died while leading covert attacks on Israel. He was a high-ranking Egyptian military officer stationed with his family in Gaza .

When he died, he was considered a "shahid," a martyr for jihad. His posthumous status earned Nonie and her family an elevated position in Muslim society.

But Darwish developed a skeptical eye at an early age. She questioned her own Muslim culture and upbringing. She converted to Christianity after hearing a Christian preacher on television.

In her latest book, Darwish warns about creeping sharia law - what it is, what it means, and how it is manifested in Islamic countries.

For the West, she says radical Islamists are working to impose sharia on the world. If that happens, Western civilization will be destroyed.
Westerners generally assume all religions encourage a respect for the dignity of each individual. Islamic law (Sharia) teaches that non-Muslims should be subjugated or killed in this world.

Peace and prosperity for one's children is not as important as assuring that Islamic law rules everywhere in the Middle East and eventually in the world.

While Westerners tend to think that all religions encourage some form of the golden rule, Sharia teaches two systems of ethics - one for Muslims and another for non-Muslims. Building on tribal practices of the seventh century, Sharia encourages the side of humanity that wants to take from and subjugate others.

While Westerners tend to think in terms of religious people developing a personal understanding of and relationship with God, Sharia advocates executing people who ask difficult questions that could be interpreted as criticism.

It's hard to imagine, that in this day and age, Islamic scholars agree that those who criticize Islam or choose to stop being Muslim should be executed. Sadly, while talk of an Islamic reformation is common and even assumed by many in the West, such murmurings in the Middle East are silenced through intimidation.

While Westerners are accustomed to an increase in religious tolerance over time, Darwish explains how petro dollars are being used to grow an extremely intolerant form of political Islam in her native Egypt and elsewhere.

In twenty years there will be enough Muslim voters in the U.S. to elect the President by themselves!

I got "the" call today that my grandma had died around noon today. As much pain as it causes us, it is also good to know she's no longer in pain and is in a much better place. It's very hard since I lost my hubby just 8 months ago, but now it's time for our family to pull together and we always do. She had a great life, she would have been 92 next month, 3 of her kids still living, so many grandkids and tons of great grandkids...and my grandson was her only great-great grandkid. She was always surrounded by so much love. I was so lucky to have spent 5 hours with her last night. Please send prayers, thoughts and good wishes to my family. Thanks, Shelly

Both are Norweigen delights passed down through the generations.
Barbel Hunters are extremely secretive and will not even pose for a pic where a particular tree or branch may give their location away. I know exactly where this was caught and for the right sum of money, I will grass. :wah:

This morning, we congregated at The Royal British Legion HQ and marched through the town to The War Memorial in the Park for a service and our two minute silence. In the long procession of Marchers, were the War Veterans, members of the Royal British Legion, RAF Cadets, EX Military Personnel, The Police, Our Member of Parliment, The Salvation Army and a Brass band and many children.

There were many many war Veterans Including our eldest local veteran aged 97 years old being pushed in his wheelchair by his daughter. He was a tank commander who lost every one of his comrades on the French Battlefields. All the War veterans were there proudly wearing the medals they so rightly deserved. We marched 3 abreast to the order of the Seargent Major. There were lines of people on each side of the road who applauded as the Veterans filed by.

I was in line with the oldest vet and his daughter and another in another wheelchair. As our procession marched through the High Street, a youth standing on the pavement aged approx 20 years old shouted loudly at these war veterans 'WHY DON'T YOU LOT GET A F**KING LIFE?'
He was rightly Ignored. We went on to a beautiful service.

I took a pic of the Tank Commander aged 97 who shed tears today for his fallen comrades. He must have wondered what the hell he fought for hearing that piece of scum. I know I certainly did.

I have not been on FG for a while, my father-in-law has colon cancer so I been busy helping.

My worry is that he is 70, and has lost a massive amount of weight.
He is losing a lot of blood, which has made him really week.

He is currently in hospital, but nothing seems to be happening in respect to medical intervention. The doctor has not been very forthcoming.

I was just wondering if anyone has experience of colon cancer, I do believe that he is the last stages of the disease and its only a matter of time.

We are totally in the dark.

Over 4 years ago, I lost a Victorian gold and Rose Quartz ring I Inherited from my Maternal Grandmother. It was totally unique and I was absolutely heartbroken. I have never told any of my family that It was lost because they would have been annoyed with me for being so careless.
We searched everywhere and I checked every handbag, drawer, under the bed etc etc. A year ago we had building work done and cleared every drawer and every shelf in every room but there was still no sign of It. Over the years, I came to believe that the only explanation was that It had dropped to the floor and I had vacuumed It up. For the past 2 or so years, I didn't even think about It.

I phoned my nephew, Henry when I got home today to wish him happy 6th Birthday. We chatted for a while about how he liked school etc and out of the blue, he said, 'Your ring is in your boots'. I didn't have a clue what he was talking about so questioned him as to what he meant. He said 'Your ring... It's in one of your boots'.
After saying goodbye I went and checked two old pairs of boots I haven't worn for 4 years and were in the dogs room, only to find this ring.

Now, I'm freaked out...... seriousley freaked out. Henry has not been in my house since he was a toddler !!!!:thinking: OMG... Just how is this even remotely possible??? I don't believe In this kind of stuff.... but he wouldn't have even known I had old pairs of boots.... this is just too weird... Him nor any of my family knew I had lost it.

What is forum etiquette?

One of the staunchest rules of forum etiquette is not posting personal information about another poster. Posting a real name or address is considered grounds for a permanent ISP ban on most forums.

You can disagree with someone's opinions, but calling that person an idiot or a profane name is a violation of forum etiquette. Some forums are more liberal about this than others, but keeping it civil is never the wrong thing to do. Posting the same thing over and over again is called scrolling, and is also a banning offense. It is annoying in the extreme and uses up bandwidth, which someone is paying for. It is entirely unnecessary and makes the poster look immature and childish.

Trolls are always in flagrant violation of forum etiquette and enjoy disturbing the peace at any forum where they post. Trolls tend to scroll, call names, gossip about other posters, post things that are deliberately provocative and usually that violate the forum's rules about posting. Most moderators hasten to get them banned as soon as possible, but they can sometimes do a lot of damage before this happens.

Another violation of forum etiquette is posting in ALL CAPS. This is considered shouting and is very rude, in addition to being hard on the eyes. Something may be in caps for emphasis (e.g. I did NOT want to go!), but no post should be entirely in all caps.

Flaming, or deliberate insults or personal rants, is also against forum etiquette. Flaming is often employed by people who are losing arguments on a forum. Their response is to personally insult the poster disagreeing with them, usually in a long, nasty post.

This kind of behavior is why so many forums have a list of posting rules and consequences for breaking them. Some may say this behavior is more prominent among immature teens, but that is in no way the case. Many of the worst offenders are adults who should know better. The veil of anonymity seems to bring out the worst in these people, and any bullying tendencies they have tend to become magnified in the semi-protection of an anonymous forum.

Thread ownership or lack of. Once a forum member posts a topic on a forum, it no longer belongs to them but to the forum administration. No single member has any grounds to decide who posts in their thread and as long as they stay on topic, they are sticking to forum etiquette...Many forum members wrongly believe that they have the right to decide who posts in their threads and also what they post..Wrong! If you dont want people to have an opinion on a topic you posted whether you agree with it or not, dont join a forum!:D

Hi folks from the 42 year old male newbie. I found this site while searching "effexor XR". I read a post on here about the "black dogs" returning. I forget who it was by though.

His post made me tear up because it's pretty much where I'm at now.

I've had depression & anxiety since around 1998 when I came out as a gay man. The gossip hound of the food distribution warehouse that I worked in made sure EVERYONE (200+) people (mostly men) knew about it.

Soon, there were crudely drawn pics of me in various gay sexual acts on the bathroom walls, on the picnic table we used at break time and other places. There was also the near constant snickering, jokes and snide comments.

I thought I was tough emotionally and could handle all this bull sh*t but in less than a year I found out otherwise. I was 29 years old & had never been truly depressed or had anxiety before. I didn't even know what those were!

I absolutely dreaded going to work. It took all my will power just to walk into the building. I felt like I was about to cry at any moment and could not take any type of criticism without feeling terrible. Meetings were terrible. If there was laughter (and there always was) my mind kept telling me that soon the laughter would be directed at me. My anxiety went through the roof. I remember one time during an especially bad panic attack ...getting up, walking to the bathroom and just standing there. I had to get out of that meeting and that room. Of course, walking back into the room a few minutes later wasn't fun.

My anxiety and depression got really bad and I couldn't go to work. I just couldn't. I took emergency personal time off so I didn't get fired. I mostly just stayed home, freaked out and watched the clock slowly tick the seconds and minutes by. It was hell. I remember the worst thing being how slowly time went by. I ended up in the HR directors office trying to talk but just crying... not knowing what was wrong with me. Ugh... that sucked!

I finally had to quit work. I couldn't do it anymore. 11 years of service at a great paying job... down the drain. :(

I eventually saw a shrink and was prescribed zoloft and buspar. It helped get me out of the major depression but I never "fixed" the underlying issues that caused the depression and anxiety. I hated the sexual side effects that SSRIs have on me. Sex is pretty important evidently. Let's see... do I want to feel better or do I want to have sex? With SSRIs, it is one or the other... not both.

Over the last decade or so I've been self medicating with alcohol. Not good, I know but it really helped my social anxiety. Before my coming out at work, I hated alcohol of any kind. I rarely drank. However, I've slowly worked my way up to drinking 1/2 gallon of vodka a week by myself at home.

That's the history... now the recent...

Everything was going as good as can be expected. I've not felt really happy or comfortable in my skin since I quit work but I haven't had a major depressive episode. So, I figured that's a good thing.

About a week ago I had a panic attack in my sleep. Scary scary stuff. When I've had panic attacks in the past (grocery store, family gatherings etc) I've avoided the situations that cause them. Well, I can't avoid SLEEP! :-5

I thought it was just anxiety because I've been so hyped up and crazy feeling. I can't sit still most of the time. I'm constantly thinking about stupid things... thoughts racing. My chest gets all tight and "hot", time passes super slow and I wake up over and over when I try to sleep.

I went to the local clinic yesterday. They are kind of a last resort type of place that people go when they don't have insurance or a lot of money. Needless to say, the care isn't top notch. Heck, it's barely adequate! :-3

They attempted to do an EKG for some reason but the stickers wouldn't stick on my hairy chest. It was almost comical. Instead of shaving me the nurse kept trying to get them to stick and making the EKG machine work. Finally she got the machine to print something out. The doc came soon after and told me she didn't trust the machines findings because it was showing that I had a heart attack!

That's not something you tell someone with anxiety! I should have demanded that they do EKG to be sure but I really wanted to get the heck out of there.

She gave me a script for 15 .25 mg of alprazolam. They help at night but I'm still waking up many times and I'm hopelessly stuck in this incredibly deep "funk". I fear being alone so my significant other has been calling in sick at work to be with me. I'm so glad I have him. We've been together for 11 years!

I'm almost done... I promise!

During the last decade on a few occasions, I've bought antidepressants from the internet when I've felt depression coming on. I research them thoroughly before taking them. I know dosages and side effects better than if I got these from a doctor. I currently have 30 Effexor XR 75 that I didn't take. Should I start taking these myself or go see a real doctor (expensive and anxiety inducing) and have a doc write me a script for whatever drug he thinks is best?

I need to feel better ASAP. I can't stress that enough. ASAP! I can't take much more of this depression.

I wonder if I can explain why this visit has been so good...

Cornwall, for a start, is beautiful. Not spectacular as in the Grand Canyon, but beautiful. Sea cliffs with Peregrines and tin mines long abandoned that make you think of lives long gone, working in hard rock under the sea. It feels as though nowhere is more than five miles from that sea in any direction and it is ALWAYS power and beauty, even up here near Truro, where the sea is what covers the mudflats and lifts the birds skywards.

In the last three days I've walked on the cliffs with my brother and watched the spray blowing up the natural chimneys like smoke and the wind jolt us sideways on the path. A Kestrel blew over us, swung into the wind and stopped, motionless. Head still as a satellite above the turning world as his body shivered, controlling every flicker of wind perfectly to keep his hunting eyes focussed.

We dropped down to the beach (Porthcowan?) and the gale had stirred the sea like espresso - the end of the wave's rush up the beach went floppy with foam and flobbed its last few feet. Sadly, it didn't quite splash my brother who had gone down to its very edge to photograph this high wind feature.

That night we went into town to have a few beers and it was Hallowe'en. Truro was heaving. We were in a costume Ball of Horror and had a lot of fun.

Yesterday was (not surprisingly) quieter, but I met a very nice person and we had a good chat for a while. The weather was truly foul and I came back here and curled up with a book and a little FG time, interspersed with setting up my telescope on the doorstep and watching the birds on the mudflats below the house (Heron, Curlew and Little Egret. Telescope is new toy, and really good. Amazing the advances in Optics over the last decade or so!)

Today I went for a walk along the estuary edge. The trees ( broadleaf woodland mostly) come right down to and hang over the water's edge, so you are protected from the worst of the weather but see a lot. Mudflats are immensely rich feeding grounds for birds of all sorts and the variety was fantastic. Highlights included Goldcrest, Sparrowhawk, Shelduck and Greenshank. Got back and spent the afternoon birdwatching and FG-ing, while doing some housework for my brother.

If that last sounds odd, he's between Nisi and Absolute; and although he's immensely strong and hasn't said anything to colleagues or friends down here in the small town environment, he's really appreciated having someone he can talk to freely.

So I've been in a beautiful bit of country, enjoying myself AND I've been able to help my brother when he was in a tough place.

I'm a happy bunny.:-6

(Oh, I'm posting this because I told him to go off and spend the night with his new girlfriend and not to worry about me - I was going to drink his beer and he'd only be in the way:wah:)

One has already been dealt with by the courts and on friday, we will be in the public Gallery to see the other sentenced at last.

Well done to the two young WPC's who persued this to the bitter end and got them to court. :driving::driving:

For two minutes we are magically transported out of the everyday into some lofty realm where the champagne is vintage, our designer outfits show off our perfect figures, our menfolk are rich and handsome.... and all that jazz.

Anyway.... I made a list of 24 Forum Garden ladies who have posted in the last day or so - and there just happen to be 24 horses available. Tempting to match people up - but I did it fairly... picked each person's horse out of a hat... Here they are...

If I'm relatively sober after attending a gathering at the local classical music radio station.. hic... I'll post the resuts. Oh and there will be cyber prizes, of course.

First place: A ForumGarden male of your choice will take you to cyber dinner.

Second place: A ForumGarden male of your choice will post you a music video showing his deeply passionate feelings for you

Third place: A ForumGarden male of your choice will post you a limerick

Last place: A ForumGarden male of your choice will post you an emoticon

So I learned a lot about my 6 month old puppy last night...she is a Chow/American Eskimo mix. I always keep my front door open and that way I can see kids coming up to the house thru my screen door for trick or treating. Everytime my puppy Sophie saw someone in a mask, or had face paint on, she would charge at the door while barking and snarling. I think she's gonna make a great watch dog.

My other two didn't really mind. My big boy Cody stole the show as always...I always hear, "look at that dog" "I've never seen a dog that big" "what kind is he" "he's so cute" ...it's always the same just because of his sheer size. They have no idea how he and my other Chow would rip someone apart if they messed with their momma. :-4

Does anyone else have super puppy/dog alarms that scare the hell outta anyone coming to your door?

Yes, I hate !

Their lies, the stories that were planned just so one of them can be welcomed back into her own family (having been kicked out for all the lying!).
We have helped them, loved them, have given them money, taken them on holiday with us ! Never ever again will we ever get so involved with non-relatives. Yes I hate them for what they have done to my family. We have learnt a severe lesson. I never thought people could be so evil, certainly not people who were supposed to be our friends.

Have you ever seriously hated anybody?

Promotional posters for the Michael Jackson movie promise fans will see Jackson, 'Like you've never seen him before.' But the King of Pop's family says, in places, it's not even him.

M.J.'s family members are accusing 'This Is It' filmmakers of using body doubles. Patriarch, Joe, says those behind the concert film are fooling his late son's fans and he only needed to see twelve minutes of footage to decide, 'This movie features body doubles, no doubt about it.'

News of the World reports that a British Michael Jackson impersonator, Navi Parasram claims to have turned down an invite to appear. He claimed, 'They asked me to do long shots, visuals, placements.' Sony declined to comment.

Sister Latoya's business partner, Jeffre Phillips, also told News of the World, 'I see all these great movements in the trailers but I don't believe most of those shots were Michael. He wasn't well enough. I've seen clips where I even thought, 'That's not Michael's voice.''

Meanwhile, Latoya reportedly has 'no plans' to watch the documentary, which focuses on rehearsals for the 50 shows at the O2 Arena where Jackson was scheduled to perform before his sudden death in June. She is said to be devastated by the possibility that the last recorded performances of her brother are not genuine.

Joe Jackson anticipates that 'This Is It,' scheduled for release October 28, will come under fire. 'I think people will tear this movie apart,' he said.

Does anybody here plan on seeing this film?

Having asked the other questions (although they're in reverse order, making this first, not last) I couldn't resist asking this one next:

Coberst says 'We perceive ourselves as an object'.

If that's the case and you were a piece of underwear, which kind of underwear would you be? Would you be boxers? Bloomers? Skimpy knickers? A balconette bra? A thong? Or would you be a daredevil and go commando? The unknickered. :sneaky: *snicker*

Would you be satin? Cotton? Lace? Comfy or highly impractical?

Oh, and what colour would you be?

(I bet Freud would love this!) :wah::wah:

I think I'd be a pair of bloomers. Old fashioned, pretty, trimmed with a little lace, but not a whole lot of use in this day and age . . . . . especially if you're skirt is as wide as a belt! Just imagine! :yh_rotfl:yh_rotfl:yh_rotfl:yh_rotfl:yh_rotfl

I have been out of work for a year, and here is them standing about doing nothing except protesting when they should be grateful that they have got those jobs in the first place as i like millions others are looking for work and can't find anything as jobs are being cut left right and centre. This is all the unions fault encouraging them to strike they should put up and shut up when there is over 2 million out of work i would be quite happy to do their job if they've got something to moan about!:guitarist

Hotel Owner to Workers: No Spanish!

A new hotel owner immediately laid down some new rules. Among them, he forbade the Hispanic workers at the run-down, Southwestern adobe-style hotel from speaking Spanish in his presence (he thought they'd be talking about him), and ordered some to Anglicize their names.

No more Martin (Mahr-TEEN). It was plain-old Martin. No more Marcos. Now it would be Mark.

This management style had worked for this new owner before as he's turned around other distressed hotels he bought in recent years across the country.

His rules and his firing of several Hispanic employees angered his employees and many residents in the community. Spanish language, culture and traditions have a long and revered history in the area.

"I'm just doing what I've always done," says the new owner, who spent 40 years in the hotel business, turning around more than 20 hotels in Texas, Oklahoma, Florida and South Carolina, before moving with his wife to Taos NM.

Worker's told the new owner, that Spanish was spoken in New Mexico before English. " The owner said he didn't care what went on before, because now this was his business," his rules.

The Taos Mayor said the new owner wasn't doing anything illegal. But he says the owner failed to better familiarize himself with the town and its culture before deciding to buy the hotel for $2 million.

Former workers, their relatives and some town residents picketed across the street from the hotel.

So was the new owner wrong, setting "his" rules", in "his" Hotel?

last week there was a Lady in my community travelling in her car when something ran out in front of her and she hit it. She immediately stop the car and got out and saw what she thought was a dog laying there. She opened the car door and pick the animal up and placed it in the back seat and proceeded to take it to the vet. When she arrived she went inside and waited to speak to the veterinarian. About 30 min past when they both went to the car to check on the animal and what they saw shocked both of them. The animal had came to and was destroying the inside of her car. The vet said omg that's a coyote. They manage to get a needle in it and put it down. If it would of regained consciousness while she was driving it would of tore her apart one lucky woman....

I don't usually post these, but couldn't resist not sharing this one. I saw this when I opened up my Messenger window this morning. I'm sure you've all seen how sexy Halloween costumes have been getting lately. I wanna' see my gf in a number of these and I'll even go out and get them for her, if she just agrees to wear them for me. :D

If you think guys are too transfixed by the candy corn to even notice your Halloween costume, think again. Here's what he's thinking when he's looking at your getup...
Now, I'm on the family's sh!t list for snubbing the bride, ruining her wedding day, p!ssing off her family, blah, blah blah. I skipped the reception to avoid the follow up fight. I admit, I could have avoided all the theatrics but, I do what the voices tell me. :)

I'm just sitting here working...I know...I know....shouldn't be:(, but I am:wah:
I'm also flipping throught the cable channels and came across a "Globe Trekkers" program of Ian Wright having conversations with people like Jane Goodall about the lowland gorillas of Africa.

WOW, I was so excited to view these beautiful gorillas and their babies interacting with Ian:-4

I just wanted to take some time to thank you Oscar for introducing us to your beautiful "Bristol Zoo" and our gorilla friends. You honestly have no idea how happy I am to be able to view your beautiful animals and keep tabs on them throughtout the day at work. I'm so lucky that I can upload your Bristol Zoo site at work. I only have a few minutes here and there, but I do check up on them.

You have made me so aware of the plight of these beautiful animals, and I thank you Julie:-4 Big ((((((((((HUGS)))))))))))) to you.

I'm going to be doing research about these animals thanks to you Julie:-6:p

Oh, and btw...I do love Ian Wright...He is the funniest and most adorable man, isn't he?:-6:p

Snakes are very very fast in the water. But we got out faster. It was a five foot Eastern brown snake - one of the most deadly snakes around. But it was beautiful too :D
