DENVER - The lawyer for the Colorado father who reported his son floated away in a helium balloon says his client and the boy's mother will both plead guilty to charges in the case.

Lawyer David Lane said in a statement today that Mayumi Heene will plead guilty to false reporting to authorities, a misdemeanour.

He said her husband, Richard Heene, will plead guilty to attempting to influence a public servant, a felony.

Lane says prosecutors have agreed to allow both to serve probation sentences.

The most serious of the charges recommended by Larimer County Sheriff Jim Alderden would have carried a maximum sentence of six years in prison.

The number of people that I know now who are starting to struggle is frightening, I even know of one man who own his own business, and employs people, who has moved back in with his mother, and has rented out his house as he now needs the rental income to help keep paying the salaries of his employees that he does not want to let go.

Many people I know have either lost their jobs or are one verge of losing their jobs or businesses.

Ireland is in trouble, it is borrowing from the European Central Bank €500 million per week, just to cover basic costs.

Then the unions are saying no cuts to jobs or salaries and the social services are saying no cut to welfare or child benefits. No one wants to take any cuts.
Taxes have already gone up significantly and they may be raising them even more, they are telling us that times are hard and we are in trouble, and normally I would agree.

Yes, I would normally say, when times are tough everyone’s responsibility is to kick in and contribute, but this time around when bankers are being bailed out and continue to pay themselves bonuses, when investors are writing off their bad depts.

No one has been charged for any of the corruption here, no one is being held accountable in this government or country, and we the public are being asked to pay the price.

This country is so so screwed. More Government reward for companies offering youth training schemes and apprenticships.

Drivers were stopped repeatedly yesterday with excuses, but they are lucky....no fines until February 2010.

and although i am a staunch supporter of the BNP,s policies it seems to me that while nick griffin is in the driving seat the BNP will never be seen as an aceptable political party.

they have what it takes to deliver the goods especially the immigration issue
but they need to move away from the wrong people i.e being seen with the KKK

they need to open the BNP to everyone regardless of their skin colour as long as those who apply are british born citizens or first generation parents does that make sense

nick griffin seems to put his foot in what he says and does not seem confident in the BNP when cornered with awkward questions.

I was at a meeting Thursday with local Councillors. The Tory's told me that If they come to power, they are going to have a massive clamp down one folk like the Chap in the above article. He claimed that GP's are handing out Disibility badges to the workshy along with the genuine folk and he wants a major over-haul of the whole system. FURIOUS anti-fascist protesters broke through security barriers at BBC TV centre today.

More than 30 demonstrators barged into the building ahead of BNP leader Nick Griffin's appearance on BBC political show Question Time.

Thousands of campaigners from Unite Against Fascism had flocked to Television Centre, in London, to voice their opposition to the controversial debate.

The Metropolitan Police said there had been three arrests at the protest, two for violent disorder and the third was of a person wanted on warrant.

BBC officials had beefed up security ahead of tonight's show — with additional barriers placed outside the building to keep protesters away.

But irate protesters have now stormed through the additional security — demanding Mr Griffin should not be allowed to appear on air.

The BBC said the disruption was dealt with promptly and confirmed that Mr Griffin had been smuggled into the building.

A spokesman for the corporation said: "A small number of people managed to get into Television Centre.


"However, they were identified and are being escorted from the building quickly."

Earlier Weyman Bennett, joint national secretary of Unite Against Fascism, had blasted: "I don't believe the BNP are going to be taken apart in the debate.

"What they are going to get is a massive hustings for their fascist and racist politics and the price for that will be an increase in the number of racist attacks."

Elane Heffernan, 47, a civil servant from East London, was outside Television Centre handing out leaflets claiming "No Plugs for Nazi Nick".

She said: "The BBC want to keep anti-fascists out of the audience. We all applied for tickets but didn't get one. A friend of mine was told she had a ticket but then they rang up and was told she didn't.

"The anti-racist majority are peaceful people. Whether it turns will be down to whether the police attack protesters."

Steven Ellis, 26, a librarian from Shepherd's Bush, West London, said: "I am down here because the BNP should not be treated like a normal party.

"They don't respect the rights of others and the BBC should not be inviting them on Question Time.

"A lot of BBC staff agree with us. A lot of people will arrive later to show their opposition to what the BBC are doing."


Welsh Secretary Peter Hain had slammed the broadcaster after the BBC Trust rejected appeals against Mr Griffin's appearance.

Mr Hain, who had made one of the complaints, said the BBC "has made one of the biggest mistakes in its proud history."

But Director-General Mark Thompson said only Parliament should make rules curbing free speech.

He said: "If there is a case for censorship, it should be debated and decided in parliament.

"Political censorship cannot be outsourced to the BBC or anyone else."

He said that Mr Griffin was not asked on to the show out of "some misguided desire to be controversial", but because it is the public's right "to hear the full range of political perspectives".

He added: "It is a straightforward matter of fact that ... the BNP has demonstrated a level of support which would normally lead to an occasional invitation to join the panel on Question Time.

"It is for that reason alone ... that the invitation has been extended."
