Heh... I like the pigtails!

I had really short hair for several years. It's taken me about 3 years or so to get it where it is now.... a couple inches or so below my shoulder blades. I'm still growing it out. I want it mid back.

All I can say is... have patience! There were so many times I thought about chopping my hair off again because I was getting frustrated with it.

You never know, you may decide to cut it again. Having it short was sooo much easier.
