Thumbs up Dorian Gray

This movie is absolutely an Oscar Wilde fans' dream! It is film noir and I do mean dark! It absolutely captures Oscar Wilde like nothing else I have seen. I highly recommend it to anyone who likes dark and disturbing movies. English lit at it's finest!

Re: Dorian Gray

I didn't realise they'd made a new version of this, Raven. Obviously not yet released in Australia. I'll look out for it. Just went and watched the trailer. The old film still haunts me.

Re: Dorian Gray

Oh, I love the old black and white version-Dorian is such a handsome young man, with the cold heart.

This one will too. It covers ground where the old black and white feared to tread! You will love it!

I did see his name mentioned as being Dorian Gray-like in a few movie chat rooms, but don't think there was another movie. Funny, the original was on cable here last night, with Angela Lansbury commentary. I watched Dogma instead. Am however looking forward to the new version.

Good one, Nomad.

I think this is my favourite:

Consistency is the last refuge of the unimaginative

This one's not bad either:

Arguments are to be avoided; they are always vulgar and often convincing.
