I brought a glass jar to the forest, with holes in the lid, there were thousands, I just scooped them up in my hands....mom and dad always thought I should have been a boy.

THEN, I bought two white rats! Dad made me this gigantic cage for them, tons of room for them to explore, all kind of things to go inbetween....then the female had babies......I had no idea she was a girl and he was a boy! I quickly read up, and we placed the male to his own part of the cage which dad then sectioned off, otherwise he would have eaten them!

I would take them outside and they would play in the grass!

but watching the tadpoles ever so slowly turn into little frogs was the best experience for me.

46 or 50, I remember a lot of these Carolly. Some days I feel older then my years but in my mind, I'm still the kid running around barefoot in the grass chasing fireflies on a warm summer night.

We also used to play ambulance tick which was a bit like murder ball but whichever part of the body the ball hit you had to hold until someone set you free.

Oh and Knights on White Horses which was like knock-a-door-running, except you had to run along the kerb pretending you were on a horse - if you fell off (or got pushed off) the kerb you hadto go back to the house you knocked at.

Who needed playstations!

We played one called "Peep behind the curtains" and "May I?"

May I? was a weird one, having to ask someone if we may move a certain amount of spaces and then having to do an impression of a tomato while moving.

or something like that. lol.

When i was at lower school we played a game called Orange Balls.

We all skipped in a circle singing:

"Orange balls! orange balls! here we go again, the last one to sit down gets a boyfriend!"

Then whoever sat down last goes away for a minute while we all decide who her boyfriend is.

She then stands in the middle, we tell her who her boyfriend is and then we skip round her singing:

"cross your heart if you love him" x4 [she has to do the action]

"stamp your feet if you hate him!" x4 [she does the action if its applicable]

then "lay down dead if you want to marry him, orange balls!" [she lays down if she wants to marry him]

and that was basically the game.

We had a game called Bastard, where we'd split into two teams and pick a word. We'd each get a letter of the word and then the other team would have to chase us and force us to give them out letter. There was rules such as no hitting, but it often go out of hand and people would kick you or pull your hair. Awww, memories

We did skipping and rounders. Oh yes, and conkers and scraps when they were in season. And hopscotch and the Farmer's in his den, and Giant Steps and Baby Steps, and What's the Time Mr Wolf......................the list is endless when I get to thinking about it.

The farmer wants a wife
One kids gets to be the farmer and stands in the middle, the rest hold hands and dance around him singing. He chooses a wife who joins him in the middle, the wife chooses a child, the child chooses a nurse and the nurse chooses someone to be the dog.

The farmer wants a wife, the farmer wants a wife, E I addy O, the farmer wants a wife

The wife wants a child, the wife wants a child E I addy O, the wife wants a child.

The child wants a nurse, the child wants a nurse EI addy O, the child wants a nurse.

The nurse wants a dog, the nurse wants a dog E I addy O, the nurse wants a dog.

We all pat the dog, we all pat the dog E I addy O, we all pat the dog.

Nah, not completely.

I still like to be silly.
I like to giggle.
I like to have people tell me stories.
I like to run around outside and play kickball.
I like to do belly flops in the swimming pool.

I came into this world kicking and screaming and that's how I plan to go out!
