Ah well - let me pour you a glass of cold water. Still sweltering here, and I need to counteract the champers.. grin. The moon is full too, and I just evicted a large huntsman spider who'd worked very hard to get up to my third floor balcony. At least I think he was a huntsman.

OMG PAM

That's one big spider I'd be scared to death if I saw him in my home

Yay, Hufflepuff colours! An intelligent horse.

Really - I am not now, nor ever have been a member of any insider trading organisation. Nor are the jockeys that allegedly are seen lurking in my garden whispering anything other than sweet nothings in my blushing ears....

The fact I won my own sweep is purely and completely coincidental

FIX!!! FIX!!! FIX!!!

Re: Ladies' Day at the Races - Melbourne Cup

No idea what NUO means, Oscar. But you had Ista Kareem - a Turkish hossie???

NUO - No Ulterior Opening?

Kathy - glad you enjoyed the race. Reckon I outran Shocking when I saw Mr Spider looking at me... grin.. Then I swiped him very gently and he sailed, intact, down into the shrubbery below where I am happy for him to continue living his arachnoid life.

Rapunzel - an FG Quidditch match????? I mean after all, some of us are quite skilled on broomsticks....

As fer race fixing... Moi????????? NEVER !!!!

Pam pours another glass of champers and raises her class to the FG Ladies

Re: Ladies' Day at the Races - Melbourne Cup

I'm working on it Kaylene.

I mentally interviewed

Nomad - but am afraid of lutefisk or worse
Clodders - I nearly chose and then saw what was in his fridge on another thread and wish to live
Hoppy - chucked a hunk of dead cow on his plate - which lacks a certain something of elegance and romance.

It's a tough one!!!

Any suggestions?

Re: Ladies' Day at the Races - Melbourne Cup

What?!? The race is over? And I dug my Kentucky Derby hat out for nothing? Ah, well, is there any champers left?
