    "Mowed down"?
Well, the guy got way with pretty light injuries. You suppose he'll think twice before snatching a purse again?

I wonder if she would have gotten off easier if she had shot him instead. Maybe that only applies in Florida.

When she confronted the man, he dropped the purse and ran across the parking lot in an attempt to flee, according to the Asheville Police Department.
“Me being five months pregnant, I chased a little ways, then came back, jumped in the car, threw it in gear and came across the curb and ran him over. I was not going to let him get away with it. It’s not right. It’s not fair.”

Definately should be charged. She was out of danger. It was revenge. Premeditated because she thought about it.

    Mixed emotions about this.

The guy was definitely wrong "stealing" the woman's purse.

The woman was definitely wrong running the guy over with her vehicle.

The woman was frantic that the guy stole her purse with her money and more important her "ID" in there. That could lead to identity theft/fraud.

Once identity fraud occurs, it is near impossible for the victim of the fraud to get it rectified. It could take possibly years to get it fixed, if then. Have heard many horror stories of people who were victims of ID fraud. Wouldn't want it to happen to me!

Again, the woman was wrong, but in a frantic state, people loose all sensible reason. So . . .

Running him over, IMHO, is a bit of an overstatement. She did hit the brakes when she made contact, sending him scooting across the lot. And he is probably a bit sore, but nothing broken.
Both will have a date with the magistrate. Be interesting to see how they fare.
