I have no idea what you are talkng about? I did not admit to being irrational. Ted says that discussion of this topic is illogical. Well I certainly would not want him to have to let go of logic.

This is a forum and he is free to discuss a topic or not.

Generally, the burden of proof falls to the person making a claim of existence. I'm not sure how you prove the "non-existence" of anything. How would you prove the non-existence of a hammer, for example?

Actually I was responding to what ted had said. He and I have had discussions in the past about religion. We disagree, but amicably. Hopefully he will appreciate the comment the way it was intended-as a joke.

Re: Proof of God

Bobby, Im with you, I know what it took me to believe in God, so I think its incumbant on each of us to get to that point where we do see the inequivicable truth...

Spot, Its a valid question either in his OP or in the one where you had him clarify it.

For me it was when I saw my fathers authority as being in the hierarchy from God, it sounds strange without the back ground but I grew up with this very intense internal feeling of rebellion to authority yet I was never an out and out rebellious kid. I would just honestly question all levels of authority, openly and respectfully. My father made sure us kids knew about God, and I knew all the stories growing up having a lot of wrote biblical historical knowledge. Its wasn't till my father sent me away from home to live with releatives that I understood long distance authority, (jurisdiction)... When I finally saw God for the first time, it was in the midst of trying to understand where I fell in the pecking order of life. It became very apparent to me that the proper order was God/My Parents/Other authorized authority by extension of my parents/ then myself. I was not my own. I had an anger problem and it stemmed from my lack of submission to authority. My unbelief in God suddenly became real proof of Him, I denied him for so long and realized it then. I knew then that the one thing I did not want to be and that was outside Gods authority, so I got down on my knees and confessed God as reality, and my life from that moment on has never been the same. I was almost 13 years old. Ive since learned that God is in charge of us all no matter what, the reality is that He did not suddenly become God, he was God forever all along, I just submitted to reality.

We all live in the same reality, some choose to ignore or deny it, while others come to understand the truth of it. And we all deep down in side know whether we are of God, or not of God. The proof is in the heart.

Re: Proof of God

BH

I have never admitted to being illogical. The proof of God that would satisfy any logical process is impossible. The reality of God is beyond logic and rationalism.

That in no way implies that I do not accept the reality of God.

Bobby didn't ask to prove non-existence, he asked if you can name an event or situation that would prove to you beyond a doubt that God is real.
