Lightbulb Re: Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI)

BR time will heal a lot you will be amazed at what you will have accomplished this time next year.

I remember when I broke my neck that things changed for me in some of the same manner as your describing. Before I broke my neck I suffered from migraines, after I have never had a migraine again.

My vision changed as well it actually go better, go figure. I also became very sensitive to lights and sounds I actually hear things at such a high frequency now I have to cover my ears alot. I also have no tolerance for back ground noise. My nuerosurgeon said that happens quit often to any trauma in the head region.

You will adjust to the new you and feel like yourself again I can assure you that.

I also believe you will regain sight in your eye, may not be for several years but one day you will have your vision back. The body is an amazing machine.

Re: Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI)

Hope I've read this correctly...I'm delighted that SHE took out your scalp stitches and replaced them....I suspect it'll make a nicer scar!

Honey, I can't even IMAGINE what you've gone through and what you're going to go through in future. But I CAN imagine that your own inner determination and GUTS will make it work out as it should!

And I know this--you'll have friends here waiting to help you...whatever it takes.

Love,......Lulu

Courage is fear that has said its prayers.

Dear BabyRider,

Every time I read about how you are doing, I am moved even more. I can't tell you how much I admire your courage and determination. You wrote something a few days ago that brought tears to my eyes.
I'm sure you were tough before this but now we and you are seeing what your strength really is. I for one, admire you.

I don't think I'll be speaking out of turn when I ask you to be easier on yourself. This has been fresh hell for you and a lesser person might have crumbled beneath the weight of it. I can imagine how badly you feel about having had a bad moment with your husband during your visit but you know what? Don't think for a minute that he isn't grateful that he still has you to argue with.

Those danged PA systems will make anyone nuts! I have been known to yell back at the things when I'm in Walmart and I don't even have an excuse!

Take excellent care of yourself, BabyRider. The Body. The Mind. The Soul. It all works together. How far you have come already!!! Keep being strong...and be gentle with yourself.

We believe in you, Criss.

Terri

Re: Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI)

Thanks, Val, for bumping this thread. I'm sorry that various elements decided to have "a go" at Cris for reasons of their own, especially when she's at her lowest, physically and mentally.

I'd like to say that I'm always her friend and miss her very much.

And...I'd like to quote YOU:

"But I CAN imagine that your own inner determination and GUTS will make it work out as it should!"

And, BR, I know this--you'll have friends here waiting to help you...whatever it takes.
