They later discovered they removed the wrong tube so I went back into surgery as the other tube containing the pregnancy burst, after this surgery they put in drains as they discovered I had an abscess, they had had to remove a lot of tissue. Two weeks later when I'd healed, the tubes burst through my stomach, they had forgot to remove them, I went in for another surgery to have them removed. That was 3 surgeries in 3 weeks. After suffering pain, the consultant discovered that they'd forgot to sew my stomach muscle back, so I had an hernia with my bowl hanging out, they repaired this through the same cut last year, so that totalled 4 big surgery's in the same area in 18 months. I am left now with what they call adhesion pain!!!!!
Omg Suzy, that is such a terrible hell you have been through.
And sometimes you have to wonder if the cure is worse than the cause.
Should you ever want to sue any of those doctors for malpractice, it sounds like you very much could. Especially if it was the same doctor who did the wrong tube, and than forgot to remove them, and than also forgot to sew in your stomach muscle! It is a very scarey reality that some of these doctors are allowed to practice medicine and surgery.

I am truly sorry for your suffering, Suzy.

The Surgeon was sacked 2 weeks after it happened. Case should be sorted out in the next couple of months.

My surgerys did give me relief - but by the time a DR would believe me and remove them, I was such a mess one surgery that was suppose to be 1 hour took nearly 3. My husband thought I'd died.
That much of a mess a DR just couldn't get all - but I'll tell ya I got to where I couldn't stand up straight - I was glued inside.
Drs had to put a metal mesh in my stomach area - in one year I had 3 surgerys.

Delilah - I walked out on Drs that wouldn't take me serious - I had to shop for a DR that would believe me & it wasn't easy to find one.

Do not live with it - I've had the same surgeon for @ 10 of the surgerys - Laposcopic surgery is a breeze compared to a C-section - Lapo will not develope the adhesions as another approach. You'll need to shop for a DR that will help and do a Lapo and improve your life - theres no living with it..

PM me anytime - I hope I've helped alittle..

Patsy
Thank you Patsy, it is good to know there are others here who can relate, understand and have been through many of the same experiences. Often times non-sufferers have no clue what it's like and simply could never understand or know what so many people go through with not just this but any health problems.

I have had that issue before too, problem with getting a doctor to listen to me that I know my own body and I know when something is wrong. I have heard from other people, who, when telling their doctor, begging them to help..the doctor will just tell them it's "all in their head", and stick them on anti-depressants even, when there is real physical problems and pain going on. Disgraceful.

You are right, in that if my doctor refuses to listen to me and my requests for something other than "you'll just have to live with it", I will be going to seek out someone who will try and help me. I have asked once, and that's what he told me, that I'd just have to put up with it for the rest of my life, because surgery can just cause more of them. When I ask him a second time, I'm not going to be as passive in my reply, that's for sure.

I've had massive issues with some doctors before myself...
At one point, my mother even went and started to complain to the hospital director, and when they wouldn't listen, went to the local politicians office. If she hadn't, I wouldn't be here today. No exaggeration.

Thank you for your knowledge and support, Patsy. I really appreciate it.

Re: Adhesions..

Hi all... wanted to post again about this, I've exchanged pm's with
Delilah and wanted to say it here, too.

I felt my first post in this thread was a bit "flip". And I didn't really
answer her question.

I know adhesions can be very painful, I had an aunt who had them
and she was one of the ones who convinced me it would be best to
work to avoid them!

I feel for you guys and wanted you to know I do understand, even if
I personally don't have them. I didn't mean to make light of the
subject or come off boastful about it.

Re: Adhesions..

Val - I didn't feel you felt flip / so so about it.

Del - Keep Doctor shopping - I need to also.
My dr now just looks at me like I'm nuts - I know my body - and this pain isn't normal and is increasing now something is terribly wrong.
My DR has told me several time now to go to a Orthopedic surgeon - I want a MRI not back surgery. So, I don't go - a Ortho surgeon will find something wrong with my back - thats where his $$ money is. My husband took me to my DR a few weeks ago - She refused to order a MRI, and sent me to a labe for blood work, what a waste of time
With my history - one would think she trusted me - so now I wait - the lab work won't show anything - today the pain is so intense I can hardly walk. This is BS.

I'll be back to see my DR soon - I'll demand a MRI - I hurt too much

Do adhesions show on MRI's, Patsy?
Yikes, sounds like your doc needs a refresher course in Patients 101.

Valerie, you did not sound flippant or boastful or make light of it whatsoever! I certainly didn't think you were. You're a kind and supportive person. I'm sorry to hear about your aunt's times with adhesions. I hope she can find some relief in anyway, be it through more surgery or pain medication.

Personally I'm not a big fan of being drugged up on painkillers. But sometimes its either that, or wanting to take a sharp kitchen utensil and performing your own surgery on your countertop.

I hope youre doing well from your surgeries, Val and wont have to go in for anymore for a long time!
