because of the potential for sexual accusations. it's not equitable, but it's smart policy. the men never complain a female officer molested them.

Built on stereotypes though isn't it? It's alright, I'm not being difficult to get on with but this has been a problem for years where I am, for various reasons. But until something bad happens to the male officer not able to carry out the search I suppose it will be business as usual.
