Re: Emohruo

When all about you is black with gloom,
And all you feel is pending doom.
When your bones are racked with grim despair -
When every breath is a gasp for air.
Keep on going, though you need to grope,
For around the bend is a ray of hope.

A ray of hope is perhaps all that's left,
As your will to live has been bereft.
You've lost it all, it's just no use!
You can end it all, you need no excuse.
But throw away that piece of rope,
And give yourself a chance of hope.

Just give yourself another day,
Brushing aside what your thoughts may say.
This is your life and you can make a new start,
By ignoring the brain - just follow the heart.
Taking baby steps in order to cope,
And minute by minute you'll build on your hope.

Build on your hope,. one day at a time,
Though the road be steep and hard to climb.
The hurts of the past - they should be dead.
The fears of the future are all in your head.
Just live in the present and refuse to mope
Your life will sparkle for you're living in hope.

Re: Emohruo

Our little girl left us on Wednesday evening at 6pm.
Here's hoping she has gone to a more peaceful place.

Tears In Heaven
by Eric Clapton and Will Jennings
Would you know my name
If I saw you in heaven?
Would it be the same
If I saw you in heaven?

I must be strong
And carry on,
'Cause I know I don't belong
Here in heaven.

Would you hold my hand
If I saw you in heaven?
Would you help me stand
If I saw you in heaven?

I'll find my way
Through night and day,
'Cause I know I just can't stay
Here in heaven.

Time can bring you down,
Time can bend your knees.
Time can break your heart,
Have you begging please, begging please.

Beyond the door,
There's peace I'm sure,
And I know there'll be no more
Tears in heaven.

Would you know my name
If I saw you in heaven?
Would it be the same
If I saw you in heaven?

I must be strong
And carry on,
'Cause I know I don't belong
Here in heaven.

Re: Emohruo

Thank you for those who took the time to care

Just a little poem for you to say thanks for your friendship & caring .
The Gift Of Friends
by Karin Schaefer

There are days when
bubbling from us comes
the innocent child within,
who giggles at the little things
and wears a silly grin.

There are days when
melancholy comes to
visit for a while;
the mind feels tired, the body weak;
we have no strength to smile.

There are days when
joy abundant
grabs a hold of you and me;
wraps us up in all it's splendor,
lifts us up and sets us free.

There are days when
sorrow wraps us
in its cloak of grief and fear,
'till our hearts ache to the breaking,
'till our eyes can't shed a tear.

There are days when
love bestows us
with its wonderment and light;
with its beauty and its mystery,
its power and its might.

And there are days when
life rewards us
and seems to make amends
by granting us a marvelous gift,
the precious gift of Friends.

Re: Emohruo

A Lesson In Life

Sometimes people come into your life and you know right away that they were meant to be there, to serve some sort of purpose, teach you a lesson, or help figure who you are or who you want to become.

You never know who these people may be; Your roommate, neighbour, professor, long lost friend, lover, or even a complete stranger who, but when you lock eyes with them, you know that very moment that they will affect your life in a very profound way.

And...sometimes things happen to you, and at the time, that may seem horrible, painful and unfair, but in reflection you realize that without overcoming those obstacles you would have never realized your potential, strength, will power or heart.

Everything happens for a reason. Nothing happens by chance or by means of good or bad luck. Illness, injury, love, lost moments of true greatness and sheer stupidity all occur to test the limits of your soul.

Without these small tests, if they be events, illness or relationships, life would be like a smoothly paved, straight, flat road to nowhere. Safe and comfortable, but dull and utterly pointless.

The people you meet who affect your life and the successes and downfalls you experience create who you are, and even the bad experiences can be learned from. In fact, they are probably the most poignant and important ones.

If someone hurts you, betrays you or breaks your heart, forgive them, for they have helped you learn about trust and the importance of being cautious to who you open your heart to.

If someone loves you, love them back unconditionally, not only because they love you, but they are teaching you to love and opening your heart and eyes to things you would have never seen or felt without them.

Make every day count. Appreciate every moment and take from it everything that you possibly can, for you may never be able experience it again.

Talk to people you have never talked to before, and actually listen, let yourself fall in love, break free and set your sights high.

Hold your head up because you have every right to. Tell yourself you are a great individual and believe in yourself, for if you don't believe in yourself, no one else will believe in you either.

You can make your life anything you wish. Create your own life and then go out and live it!

Re: Emohruo

I love this so decided I would put it in my journal

I hired a carpenter to help me restore an old farmhouse.
He had just finished a rough first day on the job:

a flat tire made him lose an hour of work, his electric saw quit and now his ancient pickup refused to start.

While I drove him home, he sat in stony silence.
On arriving, he invited me to meet his family. As we walked toward the front door, he paused briefly at a small tree, touching the tips of the branches with both hands.
When opening the door he underwent an amazing transformation. His tanned face was wreathed in smiles and he hugged his two small children and gave his wife a kiss.
Afterwards he walked me to the car. We passed the tree and my curiosity got the better of me. I asked him about what I had seen him do earlier.
"Oh, that's my trouble tree," he replied. "I know I can't help having troubles on the job, but one thing for sure, troubles don't belong in the house with my wife and the children. So I just hang them up on the tree every night when I come home.
Then in the morning I pick them up again. Funny thing is," he smiled, " when I come out in the morning to pick 'them up. There isn't nearly as many as I remember hanging up the night before."

Re: Emohruo

What a fantastic day, today turned out to be

I believe in miracles and dreams that will come true.
I believe in tender moments and friendship, through and through.

I believe in stardust and moonbeams all aglow.
I believe there's magic and more there than we know.

I believe in reaching out and touching from the heart.
I believe that if we touch a gift we can impart.

I believe that if you cry your tears are not in vain.
And when you're sad and lonely, others know your pain.

I believe that when we laugh a sparkle starts to shine.
And I just know that spark will spread from more hearts than just mine.

I believe that hidden in the quiet of the night,
there's magic moths and gypsies a fairy and a sprite.

I believe that if you dance the dances of your heart,
that greater happiness will find a brand new way to start.

I believe the gifts you have are there for you to share
And when you give them from the heart,
the whole world knows you care

I believe that if you give, even just to one,
that gift will grow in magnitude before the day is done.

I believe that comfort comes from giving part of me.
And if I share with others, there's more for all to see.

I believe that love
is still the greatest gift of all
and when it's given from the heart
then not one of us will fall.

Re: Emohruo

Just a tribute to our firefighters.
What hellish things they have seen & have yet to see.

To those who have lost loved ones.

A Fireman's Tears

The alarm rang, as it had so many times before.

He was the first of the fireman up and out,

Awakened from his bed at the station

By the clanging of the bell.

As Engine 3 pulled out of the bay,

Dispatch paged another station.

And all the firemen aboard the truck

Were tensed with anticipation

"It's gonna be a nice 'un, boys,"

He said as he donned his gear.

And the young bucks smiled at him

As they drew ever near.

They turned onto his own street

And he could see the fire's work

He hoped their mother woke his kids

To see their dad at work.

His heart sank as he saw the home

That he so dearly loved

Going up in Smoke and flames

As he donned his gloves.

Agressively he hit the fire

And searched the rooms above.

And with a flare of personal vengeance

He saved what remained of his home.

As he left the world of flaming hell

He saw his little girl

He ran quickly to her side

and said "Honey, Daddy's here."

He would never forget what next she said

As he held her close,

"I love you, Daddy," she whimpered,

And he began to weep.

She died in his arms that night

The others, later on.

His comrades gave him their respects

but his family was gone.

He sits alone at the station, now,

There's no more spring in his step.

He stays detached from his fellows

to avoid once again being hurt.

He risks it all in fires, now,

No more concerns for his safety.

He has taken a solemn vow.

He won't let it happen to another, as long as he's around.

Re: Emohruo

Believe in your heart that something wonderful
is about to happen.

Love your life.

Believe in your powers, and your potential,
And in your own goodness.

Wake every morning with the awe of just being alive.
Discover in each day the magnificent,
awesome beauty of the world.

Explore and embrace life in yourself,
and in everyone you see each day.

Reach within to find your own special being.
Amaze yourself and arouse those around you
to the potential of each new day.

Don’t be afraid to admit that you are less than perfect;
this is the essence of your humanity.

Let those who love you help.
Trust enough to be able to take.

Look with hope to the horizon of each new day,
For today is all we truly have.

Live this day like it were your last.
Let a little sun out as well as in.
Create your own rainbows.

Be open to all possibilities.

Always believe in Miracles.
