Massive Attack
This morning I heard a song called Teardrop (which I posted to 'Chillin' thread) by the band Massive Attack. Although I had heard of them before I never knew their music.
Today, I have been playing them while at work, (often have music on), wow, they so far seem really good, and their videos are artistic. Is anyone a long time fan of them? I like what I have heard so far. |

Re: Massive Attack
Do you know what I love about music? Other than the fact that there is so much to discover…
It's all the connections. What do I mean? OK, it’s like this: On my way to work I hear the song Teardrop by Massive Attack, and I like it so I youtube it and hear other stuff. I share it on FG. Then G#Gill posts a link of the song live in concert. The video shows that the singer of the song is a woman by the name of Liz Fraser. Liz Fraser happens to be a lead singer from a band that I use to like back in the 80’s called the Cocteau Twins. She kind of fell apart after the death of Jeff Buckley, (another fantastic musician) who she was in love with. YouTube - Jeff Buckley - Hallelujah And now, full circle here I am listening to her amazing voice again singing this song for Massive Attack. It’s amazing. |

Re: Massive Attack
I'm a big fan of Massive Attack. Very inventive and influential. Difficult to pigeon hole with the hypnotic way they use samples and different vocalists. The album Mezzanine, from whiuch teardrop comes, also features a great track called " Angel " which you might recognise from the film " Snatch " Fantastic base line underneath a great vocal from Horace Andy
Liz Frazer has one of the most beautiful voices I've ever heard. Gives me goose bumps. Thus I'm a big Cocteau Twins fan too
