The battlefield is still intact and you can still feel the vibes. The English and Normans left the ground consecrated.

It was a grande adventure for sure!

The largest medieval fayre in England is just that! HUGE! Herstmanceux Castle is fantastic and a wonderful setting for an event!

The site of Battle Abbey, the Great Gatehouse and battle grounds are owned by English Heritage.

Did you see a re-enactment whilst you were there - a wonderful sight.

Even after living half a lifetime here I've still not seen half the country as well as I should have.

That's cheating, that castle is a complete different one, nice though.
Not open to the public, that's a shame.

Tis so open to the public it has a tea room, rose gardens,really big round thingies with telescopes in em and the biggest medieval battle with knights and arrows in the country every summer. The other half and the kiddies went a few weeks back, my daughter wants a bow and arrows now.........
