Already hooked on Doctor Who, went through both seasons of Survivors with mixed feelings but generally thought it was entertaining, watched several seasons of Primeval until it got annoyingly stupid, just started on the second season of Being Human... let's see, what else? 1981 version of Day of the Triffids, Jeckyll and probably a few more I can't think of.
So... any recommendations?

There's an 8 part series called "Outcasts" that is showing now.

I've kept with it, even though it started a little slow. Good cast

Damn it, Outcasts isn't available at either amazon watch instantly or itunes. I'll probably have to wait till the season is over and they're about to release it on DVD. The other one isn't available anywhere. *pout*

I think Torchwood aired in the US at some time

Sorry, I missed your earlier comment... yep, big fan of the show, bought it on itunes. They're a little brutal killing off cast members, I hope Gwen makes it through the new season.

Try trawling through this list.
"Space 1999" was excellent, as was "UFO". High production values for the time. Both probably aired in the US.

Then of course there is the classic "Red Dwarf" A long running Sci-Fi comedy series. Genius and often hilariously funny

I had to look it up, apparently it never went anywhere after the pilot was made.
Good suggestion, that's available on netflix instant and there are a TON of season... that'll keep me busy for a while.

Aidan Turner (John Mitchell) acts well, I liked him particularly in the BBC 2009 romp through Victorian England, Desperate Romantics. And Being Human series 1 and 2 was filmed partly in the local streets and partly three miles off across the river, which added interest. I think I saw two episodes. I'm quite sure I dislike the genre.

I've always enjoyed horror, science fiction and fantasy. Not the twee fairies and rainbows kind of thing, more like this. REALLY looking forward to this series.
