Question For the Working People Here.

Post by cinamin »

How well do you like your boss/supervisor. I am beginning to dislike mine immensely. I used to like her a lot. But this morning when I called in sick (I rarely call in sick), she implied that I have an attendence problem and the we need to talk when I get to work tomorrow....about my attendence. She actually said that "it's becoming a problem".

So I feel even worse now. And I called HR after 8 and spoke with them and they informed me that I have only used 12 hours out of my 40 paid sick days a year. I asked if 12 is a lot, and they said no.

I thought it was rude and mean of my supe to say that. And I am so pissed off.

I have/had/ a great boss. Soon to be merely my co-worker but will still be working closely with her our new boss won't accept boss, merely team leader I like that. Think I will like the guy.

I don't really care for my principal, she is very ineffective. Not a bad person, just not the right job for her. One of the AP's though, we are terrified of. She threatened to beat up one of the teachers last year, got a 2 month free "vacation" at home, and is back at work. That teacher went to another school. We are very frightened of her.....

I've worked for over 4 years at the VFW. The commander, which can change every year, is basically my boss. The first one I worked for, I absolutely loved and respected. The second one, we had for two years. The man was a horndog. I could not stand him and he knew it. Now, my husband is my boss. Need I say more? I can honestly say that I sleep with my boss. :wah:

Okay well tomorrow I need to go in and eat crow, for calling in sick. I should tell her I value my job (which I do) and want the working relationship to be better. Or something like that.

My principals I had in L.A. were alot better than back here in the East. (although, I knew some very lazy ones there, not very active in the schools, delegated all authority to others)

So what happened in the end? Did you tell her that 12 hours out of 40 days is considered excellent by HRs standards?

What a cheek. Dont take no **** from her.

I would not bother if I was you. I would hear what she has to say and then I would show her the very short list of sickness you have taken.

Yeah you're right. I went in today and she said nothing. I was really tired though and didn't feel well. But she said not a thing to me. I just did the work she gave me and that's it.

I think that my supe is counting the days that I have left early. I have actually many times.....maybe 4 or 5 times, gone home early after getting up and going to work sick. So I think she is counting those times as "sick days".
