Merging the random threads

Vote here if you want the threads that ask you to say something random, write something about nothing etc to be merged into the Say Anything Random Thread.

I will be putting polls here so that the members get to decide what merges and what doesn't. Perhaps we can find a way to make people happy without the confusion of where a particular thread went.

Vote if you want the random threads merged then write down your suggestion for which threads to merge into it if you vote 'yes'

I'll start another thread for nominations on other merges and we can vote on them separately. This one is just for the random threads then and I'll start a poll on each suggestion.

Not at all.

That's why I'm polling. Requests have been going on for a long time to have merges done and I've put it off because I wasn't sure if it was a majority wish. This is the only way to be sure that everyone has a chance to a)provide opinions and b)knows where threads went and why.

I think they should all be merged into the one that says,' Post anything Random here'. There are way too many pointless threads where posts can just be added to in Random. Or, maybe starting a Pointless thread like that have on the MJNO forum that I was banned from. :wah:

all this talk about merging threads what about just a thread where we all jump in and have general day to day converastion without it being broke down into these individual threads, specially when we all get side tracked so easily, "oh look a shiney thing"

I mean why not a daily chatter thread for that radom kind of chit chat we all like.

Like hey NEFFY how was your weekend or something like that maybe then the pertinent topics can stay on track ... I dunno maybe it's the 2 beers from lunch talking again....

I have to question the wisdom of making judgments as to what is random.

Look at the refrigerate butter? thread. Admittedly, it posed a question but sometimes a thread that looks to not have a topic turns into something delightful.

Daily Chat forum would be good, used to have that like a few forums do although anymore forums on here it would take ten minutes just to scroll to the bottom!

true enough but there is your option as to how much you want to keep up with it all sure it does not draw attention to a specific matter or member but some days don't you just wanna jump in there and have a conversation with anybody and everybody.... like at a party without having to start your own thread to call attention to or seek out a specific area to add to??? (yeah I know go on minks go drink more ahahahaha)

I've suspected that the membership would be split on merging threads. That's why we haven't been doing it unless it was an obvious cross posting of a news event or something.

How true, sometimes the best threads are started by a random thought. I realise in the process of creating these thought inspiring, imformative or just down right

hilarious threads, there may be a few duds along the way (probably mine). But Sunny does have a good point here.
